I came to Ravindu Toyota Avalahalli branch(near Hoskote, Bangalore) for 1-year service of my 2021 Crysta ZX AT (D).


The excitement is in the air - one and all! Look at around 30 sales and service staff huddled together to see the launch live!




Edit 1: A thunderous applause at the lounge when the SUV was unveiled.
Edit 2: And my car is ready after service in 1 hours. Toyota stood to its delivery commitments!

If they price this car right enough, Kia and Hyundai should be worried. The sheer features and self-charging properties of the car make it a very good purchase, provided it sits under the 20 lakh category.

Interiors and some of the features being offered, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, a full digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, connected car tech and voice assist.









Safety features include 6 airbags, Hill Hold and Descent control, ABS with EBD, and ESC.









The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder employs Toyota’s e-drive fourth generation hybrid tech found in international products like the Yaris hatchback and the Yaris Cross SUV (spied in India recently).

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder features Toyota's 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine that produces 92hp and 122Nm of torque.

It has a 14:1 compression ratio and a temperature and pressure control to help achieve a thermal efficiency of 40 percent, making it efficient on its own.

The engine is paired to an electric motor that makes 79hp and 141Nm of torque.



The hybrid system on the Toyota Hyryder is paired with a 177.6 V Lithium-ion battery. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder boasts of an electric-only range of upto 25km.

The overall efficiency of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hyrbid under test conditions is expected to be in the region of 24-25kpl

Toyota is also offering the Neo Drive engine with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is essentially Maruti Suzuki's 1.5-litre K15C mild-hybrid power plant with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which is also found on Maruti Suzuki models.

Design is 100x better than the Creta’s ugly duckling design!

AWD is the game changer with a lock-mode as well.

They’re airing the TVC now, looks like pricing reveal today is unlikely.

Looking at the feature list, Toyota is going to price it at a premium over creta. AWD and hybrid is not going to come cheap.

With the lack of snow or ice on the roads, use case for AWD might be quite limited as well.

Toyota much be high on Skoda-VW product launch strategy.

Will be eager to see the power and torque figures, ride and handling, if the steering weighs up at speeds, boot space and how the AWD works on tricky terrain. A full review from TeamBHP and other reviewers should clear a lot of doubts. Hope Toyota prices it right in our market.
