Could be the low numbers or maybe the CKD (A4, A6, Q5 and the Q7) sales are recorded under Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (?) as there is no other mention of the Audi range apart from their CBU numbers.

Fantastic. Amazing that a Luxe Performance Marque like Porsche is making such waves here in India.

So with these significantly increased sales, there will be plenty more pre-owned options available in the market for enthusiasts a few years down the line.

I look forward to seeing more choices available there for enthusiasts.

Wow! Porsche sold more cars than Audi? Audi is definitely struggling. Even though their new A8 is well-priced, it would hardly create any difference in their total sales numbers. By some miracle, let's hope that the new Q3 brings them back on track!

EDIT- Oh ok, those are CBU numbers! Missed it. Does any member have any idea how much Audi sold in total? Did they at least sell some 500 units or so?

Audi IN has about 38 Showrooms accross India. Last month when I had enquired about the A4 and Q3, the Delhi NCR dealers and MH dealers stated that they were doing roughly 8-11 cars per month. (Delhi NCR and MH have the best Cat-A Audi dealers in India). So even if we take an optimistic calculation into the picture and assume all the 38 Showrooms did the same avg, it translates to approx 300-400 units per month. Pretty sure 500 units weren't sold.

The Q3, will only do wonders for them if only priced sanely. Not to forget, the new gen BMW X1 is hitting our shores in Q2 2023 and even the current gen BMW X1 is unbeatable in terms of sheer volumes.

Well, I am pretty sure that all the dealers wouldn't have sold 8 cars per month. But still, by some miracle if they really did, honestly I think 300-400 units for these 2 cars are good, majority I guess being A4 since the old Q3 is absolutely outdated.

One can only hope, there has been not a single car's price launch lately that has impressed me. Gone are the days when we looked for VFM cars, nowadays all cars are overpriced and excel in their own terms (some in performance and safety, some in reliability, some in space etc. etc.). Well, there is no point in blaming the car brands, it's because of the govt.'s tax policies that car's get so expensive when it hits the Indian shores!

Ah, you got me wrong here! My bad!
8-11 cars per month for their entire current portfolio! Not just the A4 and Q3.
Also, the old Q3 was discontinued way back in early 2020 itself.

Re: Mercedes, BMW, Audi & other luxury brand sales in 2022

It's no wonder that BMW is catching up with Merc — the lack of discounts, obscenely priced cars (C class at 60 lacs+), and much better options available in the segment — should all be contributing factors to the three pointed star losing ground in the coming years

LOL, then there's nothing to appreciate! They are clearly struggling.
Ahh yes, the Q3 and A3 were discontinued because they were not BS6 ready, I forgot about that!

Re: Mercedes, BMW, Audi & other luxury brand sales in 2022

Thanks for the statistics.

Its commendable how BMW India had kept (& grown) its forte against Mercedes. BMW India keeps on adding some special edition and new launches in India to keep the ball rolling for good. Moreover they had retained the DNA of BMW through out.

I am also eyeing the 2023 X1 if economics makes sense at that point of time.

One question: Do we have numbers for 2 series sales in India?
