The Carnival rival, Sienna, is /won't be available in RHD, so we can rule that one out.

But Toyota sure has MPVs to slot between the Innova and Vellfire, bang against the Carnival, but guess they won't. The new Noah/ Voxy could be the mini- Vellfire in all respects, but guess the sub 40 lakhs crowd may not appreciate the styling unlike the 'don't care as long as am comfortable' 1 crore+ customers.

The Granvia/Grand Hiace/Majesty is another model that would be a sure shot success, but may end up hurting Innova sales and whatever little sales the Vellfire has. Imagine a 6/8/10 seater, with Vellfire thrones in the second row, Innova captain chairs in the 3rd row and a 2/3/4 seater bench in the 4th row.

Don't know what model this is, hoping this to be new Innova and a new Fortuner will come a year later. What's good is to see is Toyota bringing new models from their kitty rather than just stamping badges on Suzuki cars. As a buyer, gives confidence to buy from the brand.

This is for sure not a Caren’s rival, atleast by looking at the presence of the car on the road.

Seems like a big vehicle with a short bonnet. Also,

1. The front grill and head lamp resembles Corolla Cross.
2. Not sure it is the angle, but the vehicle doesn't seem to be on a RWD architecture.

So, a monocoque 7-seater which is a mix of Innova (A,B,C pillars), Avanza (D-pillar) and Corolla Cross (grill, headlamps) is in the making?

Why it may not be an Innova replacement?

1. The first gen Innova had a life time of 11 years, and the current one is just 6-7 years old!
2. Current Crysta has not yet received even a minor facelift.
3. Toyota may not give Innova an Avanza-like D-pillar for sure. It proclaims cheapness, IMO.

re: Toyota Innova Hycross, now unveiled

Spent some more time having a look at the rumoured Innova in the video shared.

Lots of design cues have been taken from the Toyota Highlander, rest have been retained from the Crysta:
- The front grill
- The way the bonnet shut-line is placed over the front grill
- Headlights seem to have the same overall shape

- Taillights overall shape looks similar as well

Name: Highlander rear.png

- Alloys are a direct lift from the Highlander (these are 19s or 20s and not 18s)

My only wish is the interiors also get some Highlander cues!

Add to that, the massive bulge around the rear wheel.

Slightly OT, but what other vehicles do we expect coming out of the Toyota-Suzuki Stable?
From what I have read, Suzuki seems to have a busy time ahead, with Brezza, Vitara, Jimny, Baleno Coupe SUV, and the new Alto in the pipeline. Also I remember a 7 seater above the XL6 that was teased in the December Dealer Meeting.

Are the Innova and the Carens-sized Hybrid MUV two different cars? And is this the new Innova that was spotted?

True. Wish to see more interiors like that of the Highlander, RAV4 and Sienna. Or even the Noah/ Voxy. Practical ones.

Just hope we don't end up with the plastic slab with tablet stuck on, like the Corolla Cross. Which is what probably we will end up with.

As of now, not counting rebadged ones, It is a Creta rival crossover and this MPV slotted between Ertiga and Innova segment. Other than these two, only the BEVs rumoured to come in 2025. Other than these, Maruti has a slew of models lined up, while Toyota has the Hilux and maybe the RAV4 lined up.

It is a confusing topic. The confusion comes from the Indonesian media saying this is the next gen Innova, as per some leaked government papers, Toyota is launching a Kijang hybrid. IMO, Toyota maybe using the Kijang brand name for a new hybrid MPV, while the current Innova may see a next generation change when the Hilux/Fortuner moves to the TNGA-F platform.

Since, the test mules spotted look production ready, we maybe getting more concrete info soon.

Where the hell did that come from!!! Though, looks like a half hearted compliance model. Most probably a concept or maybe sold in small numbers to fleets.

This seems more logical. The complete overhaul of last gen innova was done after almost 11 years from Innova to Innova Crysta. Crysta was launched in 2016 and in the sixth year since its birth. Toyota will not consider a new Crysta at this point of time as it is selling like hot cakes till this day; so there is a good chance of this being an all new MPV sharing between MSIL and Toyota India.

But you never know

Let’s keep watching.

Cheers.

re: Toyota Innova Hycross, now unveiled

Malaysia always had a people mover called Kijang which is actually the original Qualis we had. But due to its success, the Kijang was kept on refreshed and had good market in Malaysia up to now. This looks like a replacement for that Kijang and not an Innova replace-r. Toyota needed one more mass seller on its own very badly and this could be the best choice for them. This might be the one to slot right below Innova to challenge Kia's Carens. This can not be priced above Innova for sure as this looks smaller. Pure guess work from me.

From what I understand, this year would see the new Brezza, New Alto, Facelifted S-Presso, EECO,Ertiga, XL6 and the S Cross replacement/ Toyota D22. Next year should see the Jimny 5 Door followed by the Baleno based Crossover which is likely to have different powertrains compared to current Baleno. The Toyota Innova should also come next year. I won't be surprised if a Suzuki version is also in the offing. 2024 is likely to see the new Swift twins (Swift/Dzire). This is what I understand of Suzuki/Toyota lineup for the time being. The Toyota versions of Ertiga and Ciaz are likely to take a bow in Indian market also in the interim. The next true Toyota-Suzuki vehicle would probably be the YY8 EV. The news in Autocar is authentic as per company insiders.

Now, read the following news (Source: https://gaadiwaadi.com/2023-toyota-i...hybrid-engine/)

"2023 Toyota Innova Likely To Be FWD With Strong Hybrid Engine. Codenamed ‘B560’, the next-gen Innova Crysta is expected to drop the current IMV-2 body-on-frame architecture in favour of the TNGA-B monocoque platform."

If this news is true, then the spotted vehicle "can be" the new Innova!
