Who knows, there might be a Land Cruiser Challenge going on among young Chotta Netas in our country. Somehow raise 10L and book the LC300. Try to be a Bada Neta by the time of delivery, in 2 years.
This reminds me, Toyota is the 3rd biggest contributor in US politics, after GM and Ford (Auto Manufacturers)

It’s just the regular 5 seater LC300, won’t have any additional space in the 2nd row compared to the 7 seater version.

That's a scoop of the Year

Toyota in 2022 is very different than before. First, it was the launch of Hilux that surprised me, and now it's LC. It creates a buzz around their brand, bringing an aspirational product.

It will be interesting to see how many in total are made available for our market, I won't be surprised if there is news in a few days of 2 or 4 Years of waiting list.

It appears to be the 7-seater with missing third-row foldable seats. I am unsure if this has a particular reason (saving money or weight issues) as it does not increase passenger rear space. Third-row seats anyways fold under the floor in this generation ( after 7:10 seconds)

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

I wish Toyota in addition to these gas guzzlers, also brings the super efficient Rav4 Plug-in hybrid. I feel that more than any other country, India needs more fuel efficient vehicles. Moreover, apart from incentives only for EVs, some sort of 'significant' benefits should be given for introducing strong hybrid and Plug-in hybrids. The so called leapfrogging to EVs from current oil based vehicles doesn't seem to happen any time soon. Especially, Toyota and Honda have been living in denial on moving towards EVs. Only now they've woken up. And we don't know how long it may take them to launch an EV in Indian market. I don't know if we have to read these Toyota launches as their new approach towards Indian market or they are trying to dispose off their older 'hit' versions for time being as other markets are moving towards electric and hybrid drivetrains.

Agreed. I think the market is also ready and "open" to a 55 lakh (that's how much I think it will cost, at least) plug-in Hybrid SUV which is not "large". Much more than it was a few years back when Toyota experimented with the Prius. As a matter of fact, even the Prius Prime may be a good bet.

Oh man! Can't wait for the toyota prices to be announced! It's the return of the legendary nameplate, but it's price will make the fortuner GR at 60 lakh look VFM for sure.

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 bookings open in India.

Waiting period for the new Land Cruiser could be over a year in India; will come with a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine.
Quote:
Toyota Land Cruiser India booking amount set at Rs 10 lakh
Will come with a 5-seat layout; single diesel engine option
Land Cruiser gets two new off-road modes
Quote:
Although dealers have started accepting bookings, there’s no word on the SUV’s pricing yet, but we expect it to be priced in the region of Rs 2 crore. Toyota has, however, confirmed that the Land Cruiser 300 will get a 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty. Expect the Land Cruiser 300 to be launched in our market in the coming months

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

As expected, it's more of hush-hush bookings. Allocations are given to persons of importance, extended families of dealership principals, basically anyone who can influence

I know at least three persons, myself included, who eagerly awaited this but Petrol. Perhaps, my earlier posts on the thread reflected that thought. Not many people want to buy a Diesel, especially here, given the useable life of 10 Years besides the overall comfort (noise, etc.).

Something does not add up relating to this Diesel launch; it will be interesting to know what made them choose this over Petrol. Per my contacts, Innova Diesel stoppage is more or less given, and with most of Toyota's thrust on Hybrids & Petrols, they should have launched the Petrol.

This is what they are saying, relating to the Hybrid strategy.

Meanwhile, I got a quick detailing on our 200 to calm my mind

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

Dealers are being very cagey about bookings for the LC300. Asking all kinds of questions about what car your drive, where you are located etc etc.

Had to use tremendous influence to get a booking in for a friend. Can't believe how a product can be like this. But, it is what it is.

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

I dropped over to the Lexus showroom last week in Chandigarh. I was met with a gentleman who had zero interest in welcoming or even offering a seat as I enquired for LX600 nor that I went specifically but as I had to replace the Keyfob battery on my LC and Toyota parking is always full .

So, per him, and I will believe him given his confidence, we are getting the LX500-D and not the LX600.

Like LC, only a handful of allocations and no firm deliveries are committed. Though, he was certain that the VIP package ( 4 seaters) would be available from next year's booking. Currently, pay the dealership 10Lac advance, and they will put you in some queue and will answer whenever they get the allocations.

On the subject of Diesel, a fellow member shared this screenshot from the launch presentation and asked if this engine- 3,3 LDSL will meet BS6.2 standards applicable from April 1, 2023. It says Euro 6b, which per wiki are norms from the past.

I have no clue about this newer BS6.2 and how it compares with the Euro version, Is anyone aware of this?

I know this car is not available in the EU/ UK, so if it does not meet BS6.2, why is Toyota even bothering to launch for a couple of months?

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

The Lexus LX500d SUV will launch by late November 2022; India will only get the 3.3-litre diesel.

Quote:
- The luxury SUV will have limited allocations, with each dealer only getting 10 units.

- Lexus is expected to start delivering the first batch of its flagship SUV between January and March 2023.

- The Lexus LX500d is said to have already been sold out and pan-India deliveries may not exceed double digits.

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

Adding to the previous post (shortcut) -

The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine churns out a healthy 305hp and 700Nm of torque, which is higher than the outgoing LX450d SUV.
Paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the LX500d gets all-wheel drive as standard, along with multi-terrain modes for off-roading.

I wish if Lexus does something with their front grill, its eating up all the space from the front fascia.

Re: Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX600 coming to India soon

I don't understand why there is still so much of "maramari" to get the LC siblings. I have heard that people are willing to spend 40-50 lacs more over the on-road price to get one of these . I do understand these are very reliable but a Land Rover Defender 3.0 diesel would cost half the price and has got equally great looks and presence. Even though JLR's reliability is not great but still off late they have improved.
