Speed limits in Highways and expressways

On Sunday last on my trip to Pune and back I found less number of big cars zooming at 140+ speeds (previous experience has been to the contrary ). I suspected speed guns are around somewhere and with the 80 kmph speed limit boards, I also did not dare to do more than 120 kmph. On my return journey I found a cop just before the toll point on the median space training a camera on the traffic. From the look of it, he was just experimenting bec. no one was flagged down !!.
