The product design & feature offerings have that potential to revive Honda Sales, only if they remain in their senses during the pricing call.

I hope Honda comes up with a brilliant SUV and prices it well. Honda might just end up leaving India if this one fails. Would be quite sad to see Honda leaving too.

Thanks for sharing. Festive season in India is Q3, right? I can only hope 8 - 9 months of planning is enough to get Honda out of their precision-dug well of despair.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

The Hybrid version will most likely be in the price range of 24 to 26 lakhs on-road Bangalore, making it a niche segment car. It is the 1.5 NA engine that could give Honda a life depending on how Honda packages it along with the price.

Finally an update for the hope of existence. Already too late in the game and now too late in launch. Lets see how it fares. The facia looks good for Indian taste of bulky SUV.

Honda's mid-sized SUV could be named' ELEVATE', likely to be launched in Japan too.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Wow! that design is something to look forward to. The statement mentions this SUV is a result of an extensive marketing study. If they have really done the homework properly this should revive the good old times of Honda. Or if they're just launching anything for the sake of it like the half-baked erstwhile BRV / Mobilio, then this will just be another flop. On a side note, the reason to simply drop good city cars like the Jazz / WRV due to low sales is not correct IMHO, rather there should at least be an attempt to revive them. Anyways, eagerly looking forward as to how this pans out.

If Honda plays it’s cards right they can manage to screw this up too. xD

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

If this SUV is to have any chance of succeeding in that segment, it absolutely has to be based on the City platform and not on the Amaze one. If it is based on the Amaze, it will just end up being a BRV 2.0 and it will be the final nail in the coffin for Honda Car India.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

If Honda could update their 1.5 diesel for upcoming norms and offer it in this car, that would had been a big advantage for them. A big reason for the success of two koreans is that they are the only ones to offer diesel in this segment. And I know many people who just want a diesel, not a petrol or a hybrid.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

I know all of us are in wait game, but do we know if it is going to be amaze engine or city engine. Because I keep reading news about next gen WRV as well. (Which may not be 4.2-4.3 m segment vehicle)
Really need a proper 1.5 SUV from Honda.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Honda's SUV likely to arrive in two variants - one with 5 and the other with 7 seats.

Quote:
Inside, everything indicates that the model will feature the same digital scheme seen in recent releases, such as the new generations of Accord and CR-V. In this sense, 10.2-inch digital instrument frame and 12.3-inch multimedia center are expected. The electronic architecture will be completely new to accommodate the systems.

re: Honda's new SUV for India | EDIT: Named Elevate

Honda is confused as always and is confusing media and general public too.

They seem to be working on Amaze based SUV (WRV) which will be sub-4m and also a City based SUV (for Creta segment, but it is not HRV??) and we still don't know the exact timelines

If you ask me, Honda needs to launch both of them ASAP. But million $ question is, which one will Honda launch ?

Amaze based WR-V is launched in other markets so should be easy if they show some intent

What I am clueless is what is this City based SUV. Is it same as HR-V (I doubt !!) or all new India specific model ? Time is ticking Honda
