I'm holding my breath for some news of an SUV launch from Honda. I have an almost 9.5 years of City and the road tax is due. I so want to upgrade to a better ground clearance Honda car, but they just seem to keep pushing it further away for what reasons I do not understand.

I have actually given up on Honda now.
When I bought Honda City in 2016, I had dreamed of switching next to Honda CRV or Honda HRV ( if launched in India ). However, today even CRV is not on sale.

Then there was a time, I thought Honda may just surprise us by launching the HRV. But, they dropped that plan as well.

I have no hope for the Honda mid-size SUV. I believe its fate would be similar to that of Honda BRV. The initial teased images of front and exterior doesn't look that good, interiors and lights will be shared with Honda City and it will include the same hybrid package. Honda would still launched it at a premium with Maruti / Toyota siblings.

I think even Honda loyalist will think twice before buying it and it will not survive the competition.
It will be a too little and too late addition by Honda.

Not excited at all. Amaze platform, 1.2L engine, sub 4m, all screams cheap. Hyundai played smart by first bringing in Creta which is bang in the upper middle class segment so to say and then bring in a 'cheaper Creta' in Venue. Now is this Honda SUV going to be a cheaper City? If not, Honda need not even bother.

The new compact SUV, which is scheduled to debut around spring next year, is one of them.

This compact SUV is a more compact mini SUV than the Vezel. It is based on the current Fit and is planned to be powered by a 1-liter in-line 3-cylinder turbocharger.

However, there is a possibility that it will be a 1.5L e:HEV that will be mounted on the Fit in consideration of the current trend. It is noteworthy as a direct competitor to the Yaris Cross as a direct competitor.

It is powered by a 1-liter in-line 3-cylinder turbo engine of 129ps/18.4kgm.

Seems like the Baleno based suv to me. I dont remember anytime a Honda has been caught testing in India.

Isn't this bit of a downgrade since we know the previous WR-V was based on Jazz which definitely was a more superior product over Honda Amaze. This one looks clearly based on Amaze. Overall, Honda urgently needs to bring this to india if they have any hope on their india business.

This can be a success only if priced similar to the Venue. Should be positioned as a Venue+, with a lower price.
