Experience the Care for "Customers"

Today i saw an advertisement in the news paper. A more than half page one in the form of a letter from the MD of Maruti Udyog to its customers. It was basically a sign of gratitude towards the customers who were waiting for their Swifts and SX4s. I thought that was great. Now how many manufacturers would actually do that. Have i seen any other company showing this much care for their customers....Well i dont remember anything.

Thought i would start a thread so that we could share any such experiences we have had with any brand/dealer/service centre. Maybe we could also put down some of our Worst Customer Care Experiences.

It's not care for Customers as much as advertisement.
You read the ad & feel, Swift & SX4 are so much in demand.
Maybe I should buy it rather than a competitor which doesn't seem to be
so backed up.

that ad earlier appeared for swift when it was released in the market. Now they had added it for SX4 too..
if you see the letter from Mr.J Kattar, you see that it is not at all an apology to the waiting customers, but it is like making news abt their new plant with a "doubled up capacity"

Atleast the company is bold enough to accept that it is currently facing some sort of a shortage to supply to the ever growing demand of the swift diesel and the SX4. Not too many companies would do that...

That's absolutely true, I really appreciate maruti for doing this.

Its more of an advertisment than an apology.
They want to project that SX4 and Swift has a huge demand, so this ad in turn creates even more demand.. lol

Khattar is a clever man.

did they say anything about how are they going to resolve this problem or when is this expected to end ? answer is no !

They did similiar advertisments for Swift Petrol. Maruti has developed a habit of keeping their customers in waiting. If they really cared it should not have been happening again and again. Is it good to apologize every time.
First it was Swift Petrol then Swift Diesel and now SX4.

I got my Swift Petrol last month & it took slightly less than 3 weeks from booking to get the car in my hands.

So it's not just Swift Diesel as of now. What the dealer told me is that
the Swift factories are fully tied up with Diesel to take care of the
backlog & hence the delays for the Diesel.

Yes...more of an ad than an apology...Just to show Hyundai and Hondas that Getz, Verna and City are getting S*****d in sales with their products.. Remember the hype that swift had created when it was launched? A team BHPian was asked to wait 6 months for a swift and fi nally he chose an Esteem! Now they sell swift with all the promos...

Its surely an advertisement andnot an apology. See they are doing business and whenever they spend money it would be with an intention to reap back benefits. But what would a person waiting in the queue for weeks and months feel when he sees this ad. Wont he feel good. Wont he feel that the company really cares for him. And they are really concerned about making him wait.

I dint think this is the first time someone has had to wait for delivery. But how many other companies have bothered to put up such an ad.

And regarding customer care i've see cases where people have had hassle free experiences in case of accidents/repairs where they just sign a claim for insurance and their car is back at home with all repairs done.

Whatever that advert is one thing nobody can deny
1. Maruti Swift Diesel production is way below demand
2. Ditto for SX4
Maruti has a winner and this ad will boost their sales further.
Like it or hate it, With the SX4 Maruti has done an M800 in the C segment.

Spot on!
Adding more hype to the over-hyped Swift and SX4!
Way to go MUL!

of course i agree with all the hype and overpricing part with these vehicles(Swift Diesel. They SX4 seems to be priced well but i do not have first hand wxperience of quality of items. At least on Paper it seems well priced.).

But what about the way they "show" that they care.

Common FIAT, HONDA, Chevrolet, Hyundai, M&M, TATA and all other brand customers. Why dont you put in something to show that these companies too care for you. Other wise it seems that its ONLY maruti that cares for its customers.

Do people experience the same waiting periods like maruti when they go for some other manufacturer ?

Or its the maruti who is not well prepared for timely deliveries.
