seems GM is planning on Aveo CNG and Captiva SUV along with a small car between spark and aveo u-va.

so it seems GM is on fire..first aveo, u-va, spark and optra diesel & now new stuff...

Captiva launch is for next year, CNG is also a possibility, no firm plans.

Quote:

GM India Vice-President Marketing (Sales and Aftersales) Ankush Arora said the company was also planning to launch SUV Captiva next year, while possibilities were being explored for introducing CNG range in mid-sized sedan Aveo.

There is some talk that the aveo could get a diesel engine soon.Diesel engines are planned for the rest of the line-up too[includes u-va and spark] just that it would take some time [2008].

Gm too is looking at manufacturing the common rail engines in India.

Diesels using the DDiS engine again! expect for the Captiva which will sport the Magnum's engine I guess.

Since Optra diesel starts at 8.74 & petrol at 7.95, my guess would be that Aveo may start at 6.75 or so. That would make it interesting for proposed SX4 diesel and Ford diesel.

LLL i think you are referring to the uva diesel that would start at 7. you know sometimes people never get their pricing right, and gm is always on that line.

I was thinking of the Aveo sedan...are they planning to launch u-va @ 7.??

if thats the case, i agree that it will be bad pricing.

GM has plan to bring in a wide product line in india. diesal also is being focused optra magnum is an exampl, Aveo diesal should be on cards too.

Price wise they are slightly over priced, but they have better built and quality then ford and maruti?

After Sales has improved a lot, marketing is better then before. GM has to do it otherwise GM can not compete with Maruti, ford and Honda.
