It looks great - way more sportier with not being aggressive at the same time. Sweet! Unlike the Verna, this looks good in pictures too

2023 Hyundai Verna deliveries commence in India

Hyundai launched the next-gen Verna in India earlier this month. Now, the brand’s dealerships have commenced deliveries of the car.

The all-new Verna is available in four variants: EX, S, SX and SX (O), with prices starting at Rs 10,89,900 (ex-showroom).

The Verna is available with two petrol engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit that makes 113 BHP and 144 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual and an iVT. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine develops 158 BHP and 253 Nm and is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The car does not get a diesel engine option and unlike its rival, the Honda City, it doesn’t come with a strong-hybrid powertrain either.

The new Verna has a striking exterior design with a large grille and a sleek LED light bar stretching across the front end. Inside, the car gets a dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. The car is equipped with a 2-spoke steering wheel and gets ventilated and heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting, a Bose audio system, automatic climate control, a wireless charger, an electric sunroof and a smart trunk.

Is this the car that was delivered? Seems more like a showroom display piece that was unveiled as a part of the local launch than anything else. It could be a possible click-bait by the YouTube/Instagram user too.

Good to see a car launched in a normal way after so long! How I wish all other launches were still in the same fashion! Last done in this fashion was I guess the 2022 Baleno!

Nope deliveries have actually commenced at the dealerships. Have seen a white Verna being delivered on IG a few hours ago!

Looks like hyundai's new design language is here to stay. The upcoming Sonata looks quite a lot like the new Verna but without the cheap bits.

Above shared photos of Sonata shows the front LED horizontal bar in a straight line and hence I feel it looks good, whereas the one in Verna ends up as a curve on both ends and hence is not very appealing. Just my thoughts.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna launched at 10.9 lakhs!

I saw a video of the Verna where only the corner parts of the light bar on the front were lit up. I am talking about the ones which are not directly above the grille. Please can someone explain why is that?

All around the new Sonata looks more like Audi S5/RS5

Corner lights on the LED bar is the DRLs, and the full bar lit up only when parking/headlights are turned on.

Saw a white verna Turbo parked in front of the Hyundai dealership here. I must say that this car is not photogenic at all but it looks damn sexy in the flesh. The proportions look right and the plethora of details do actually work in real. As a sedan lover, I'm super happy to see action in this segment again. The verna Turbo will definitely be a serious contender when I'm in the market next.

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna launched at 10.9 lakhs!

If the Verna deliveries has actually started, why is there an EMBARGO on media report of Verna test drives which has already been completed.

The embargo on media test drive reports will be lifted only 30th March 2023 at 11am.

I really do not understand the whole concept of EMBARGO once the vehicle is already launched.

The worst part/irony is, there are already several videos on YouTube for all top variants. So for me, it's the same question. All major auto journos have the embargo which is totally unnecessary IMHO.

The other part I hope is, for all the current videos on YT, I hope they are not giving "to be customers" cars. That would be really bad on the showroom's part

Re: 2023 Hyundai Verna launched at 10.9 lakhs!

Wanted to upgrade my Figo Aspire AT (Run 26k kms in 6 Years) with a Strict Budget of 20L. Was considering a less run Preowned 2018 Superb, New City, Virtus and Slavia; the usual suspects.

Finalized on City VX AT after numerous Test drives. Somehow Virtus and Slavia didn't click in spite of few Test Drives ( That is for another thread).

New Verna was Awaited eagerly before pulling the trigger. It was launched on Saturday.
Better half did like the whole design a lot, I loved the rear design very much, seeing new Creta the front design for new Verna was more or less expected. Exterior design is Polarizing, saying it futuristic is a safe bet considering the new EVs in the market. But Car looks quite proportional in flesh.
Kun Hyundai offered a test drive (AT Turbo) on Sunday.

Space in the rear was my Biggest Gripe with previous Verna, New one corrects that issue very well. enough place even when front seats pulled all the way back. This gives a big car like experience both in front and rear seating. Back seat Comfort was pretty good but city will still have a slight upper edge in my opinion. Interior fit and finish is top notch no complaints whatsoever.

Features wise , ADAS, 6 Airbags , Futuristic instrument Cluster and Ventilated front Seats were quite appealing.

Test Drive: I got extensive Test Drive and covered most of the routes near my home which will be covered by this car on Daily basis. First Expression was WOW! this has serious loads of power which I had initial trouble controlling. Car doesn't feel sedate and pulls up superbly from whatever speeds (with 4 on Board). The turbo is Rev happy but the sudden gush of power at some RPMs makes it more enthusiast car than for the sedate drivers. The Road feedback may not be as good as Ford but much improved than previous Gen Verna. The handling was quite well controlled, very confidence inspiring much like the bigger sedans. It did not scrape the bottom anytime even in construction roads, Wife and Kids Pretty happy at the backseat. ADAS is quite effective for front collision warning with parking sensors being very useful. Drove many routes as a Passenger in backseat as it is going to be partly chauffer driven. Car is a looker on Road and will attract lots of eyes especially in the Red Color. I have driven many IVTs previously, so I thought the Non Turbo should be enough as this Car will be driven outside city limits very rarely.

I just went ahead and booked the Car (SXO, IVT Grey) , which could be delivered sooner than expected. Let us see how it goes.

If you have a budget of 20L, I would strongly recommend the turbo variant. Sometimes one gets the remorse after having spent that much money- CVT cars tend to give you that feeling, because they arent that much attractive to drive in a urban + highway cycle.
