re: 2023 Hyundai Verna launched at 10.9 lakhs!

I was so eager to upgrade my i20 to latest Verna with the diesel engine. But Alas, It is sad that there is no diesel powertrain. I would rather pick big hatchbacks with diesel than go for petrol sedans then, I cannot compromise on the diesel engine option.

The new Verna look sweet! Bold proportions and striking. Me likes. I felt that the older Hyundai fluidic designs looked sad - like a block of butter melting. This new mix of curves and slashes are refreshing - case in point the new i20, new upcoming creta, the Tucson. The older designs are still seen in the i10 and its variants and they look sad.

Looks like the end of the road for Diesel Sedans in the C segment. Only Honda seems to still sell the City diesel and I have a feeling they may also discontinue anytime. Pretty sad state of affairs in the name of emission and climate.

What better way to grab eyeballs for an urban crowd of youngsters who want to stand out. Nothing than buying a sedan for one, especially one that is so quirky which could be assumed as futuristic too. I personally am not sure if I’d buy one but it definitely targets the people who want to stand out and maybe that’s the only way sedans may survive. The engine, gear box and peace of mind of buying a Hyundai also making it worth the money.

Exact word's were spoken for the Creta. The rest is history!
This car too will grow on us, just like the Creta albeit the waiting list won't be as long

So unless Hyundai & their cousin start treating Indian model with the same approach to safety as their global models, I can be bothered.
You should not be bothered. Electric vehicles will invariably score more in NCAP test than normal cars due to the absence of an engine in front. There is no cabin intrusion during frontal collisions.

VAG 1.5T is an imported engine whereas Hyundai 1.5T would be locally manufactured, also due to the higher volume plan for Hyundai 1.5T the effective cost would be much lower.

Wow. I am really excited. The design looks simply futuristic and really attractive. The styling itself will set the sales charts on fire. The car will complement the gorgeous Creta at the Hyundai showrooms. The smart-looking and futuristic Aura will also add an air of class to the gallery. Now Hyundai needs to make some style changes on the dud-looking i20 as well.

Is this sarcasm or a genuine appreciation of Hyundai design language? Verna looks good and even Creta looks okay but smart looking and classy Aura?

re: 2023 Hyundai Verna launched at 10.9 lakhs!

I was going through the comments on this thread, majority of the members are not happy with the design. Lets see how does it look like in real world. Till then I think the 2011 Fluidic Verna is the best looking of all its generations.

Hyundai is bringing the Tucson like front grill to all its cars. In Creta its looks beautiful. But here in this case only after the car is shown we will know.

I think we can safely blame camera angle and image distortions until clear images come out. I recall leaked images for Brezza last year were depicting an ugly car, but final product was distinctly proportionate.

Hasn't Honda already confirmed that their 1.5 idtec diesel will be discontinued for BS6.2 ? I remember reading it in the news last month.

I'll give the benefit of doubt to Hyundai and take the renders with a pinch of salt. Hyundai won't possibly make so ugly a car. Right?

Several people have been disheartened by the way BMW killed the X1 altogether by underpowering and overpricing the car. To think of it, for the on road price of a 134 hp FWD BMW X1 petrol, one can purchase a top of the line Innova hycross / XUV 700 AWD/ Safari/Scorpio N 4WD based on your preferences, and still have enough cash on your hands to buy a 160 PS Hyundai Verna

Let's make sedans great again!
