One of the variants also had a wet 8 clutch DSG! I have belief that the build/overall quality there is also quite good/as good as a Toyota.

Hi, don't expect the Indian Verna to be same as the overseas Verna. When it comes to the shores of India the weight of 1700 kg will become 1200 Kg, I mean to say that the build quality might be heavily degraded, though the interior quality and features might be same when compared to the overseas market. I wish that atleast this time Hyundai has taken safety seriously as paying 22 lakhs and getting a merely 3 star rated car is not cool. However I would not like to comment upon the build quality of the Verna till it is launched and tested for crash.

What's happening with the current generation of car designers? I hope Hyundai makes some changes in the design of the front end before the launch. Moreover, I guess a new trend named "No Foglights" is popular in the current market.

I loved the sketch design which was out couple of weeks back. But now as and when more real life pictures are coming in, the design element is looking more toy kind like Hyundai Aura.

Ok, the design is polarizing and I am not on either side before seeing the car in person. Hyundai is known for coming up with unconventional designs which will be an eye sore for our eyes initially but once the dust settles down they will be accepted by people. Case in point here is Creta, I still remember the feedback in this forum when 2nd gen Creta was initially revealed in China; while everyone bashed Hyundai for spoiling the 1st gen Creta looks, Hyundai rewrote history with massive success with 2nd gen aswell. So let's wait for official images, what's on offer, and the price before getting disappointed.

The lines make me remember the Pravaig. Lack of traditional headlamp size has made them put some weird stuff in the front and matched up in the rear. Just because LEDs allow them to be really sleek, they are messing up the designs.

Whoa! Looks like my brother's chinese toy car. Seems like the Hyundai car designers bought a chinese RC car and made a real car out of it. I'm sure the build will also be compromised. I don't really understand the philosophy behind sharp cuts, big grills and stickers. The 3 stripes under the taillight are an eyesore. It looks obnoxious. I can't believe a company which has made designes like the previous i20, fludic verna etc, has come to this state.

These are called real sedans with sleek curves and beautiful lines :













I hope car manufacturers retain the original shape of sedan's and suv's rather than making toy cars.

It seems that the colour difference at the rear is a design element after all. Pretty distasteful!

For many an Indian, the rear door of the New Verna is a natural evolution of that of our good ol' HM Ambassador. The iconic door that welcomed virtually every successful Indian from the early 1960s to the late 1980s. Including a couple of Prime Ministers.

From the leaked pics I was expecting the sedan to be more low-slung. Now it looks like this too will be a raised car, like Slavia and Virtus.

Personally I feel Slavia would've benefited with a more low-slung profile, Virtus somehow pulls it off. Will wait and see how the Verna turns out!

First impressions:
1) GC looks same as the VAG twins(179 mm)
2) Based on the stance and the overtly empty wheel arches the wheel and alloys must be 205/55 R16.

The tail looks much better than the renders. And dying to get a look inside.

Why do manufacturers have to resort to quirky designs?
Gone are the days of timeless designs that age well. This Verna clearly lacks character and the design elements are far from appealing. This is surely an opportunity ruined.

VW designs are so simple yet elegant and the cars end up ageing well. You might not like them, but surely won't hate them, while the recent designs by Hyundai, and in particular this Verna, will be too polarizing to say the least. Moreso, it's not an SUV that can ride on the SUV craze and still sell. Sedans are a dying category already and these designs just won't help.

How the tables have turned! This is why we don't rave about the concept sketches. Those were ugly enough, now this! The proof is very well in the pudding.

Again,the photo angle could be at fault.
I am not saying this will be a good looking car but not as bad as it appears in the pic for sure.
