Hyundai Aura SX CNG launched at Rs. 8.57 lakh

Hyundai has launched the Aura CNG in SX trim. It is priced at Rs. 8,56,600 (ex-showroom).

The Aura CNG is now available in two trims – S and SX. The latter comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, cooled glove box and 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Aura is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 68 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm @ 4,000 rpm when running on CNG. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

This move by Hyundai could be in response to the Tata Tigor iCNG and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG.

Great to see other manufacturers following Tata after they launched CNG vehicles in higher trims and not typical MS barebones trim for CNG cars. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are following the trend set by Tata as they can't be left behind if one manufacturer is offering something. One key factor still missing in the option of automatics (even AMT) in CNG models.

I understand higher costs (CNG kit + auto transmission) will push vehicle prices in next segment but also believe that if one manufacturer starts offering this combo others will eventually follow!

The SX trim in Hyundai Aura seems to be perfect if someone is looking for a high usage vehicle with nice features. Although it is not as good of a mileage machine as a Maruti Dzire CNG, the shortcomings in mileage easily get masked with better cabin feel and convenience features.

We are contemplating on getting Hyundai Aura SX CNG for my brother in law’s mixed usage for home use and cab business. Hyundai is offering good discounts too that makes it a better proportion when compared to Maruti Dzire.
