For every one person who went in for Octavia at least 5 would have stayed away due to lackadaisical attitude of the company and dealers who were "thick as thieves". Octavia will remain a brand name for the brave few with deep pockets and patience to deal with the Skoda and it's dealers. That said as it was with FIAT this is a company with great products and management made of nuts who really don't care and know very well they can get away with murder in India.

The current avatar of the Octy is simply irresistible.

I like the 3rd gen facelift too - but the taillights did not entirely go with the otherwise sleek body.

The current gen is making me drool like a teenager.

I am controlling myself (also the middle-class guilt is holding me back) - to get this beauty.

Well said. Not just deep pockets - very deep pockets, patience to deal with Skoda and its dealers. I have had my share of issues with detailed mail thread highlighting the inefficiencies of both Skoda and dealers. Infact Chennai has the infamous M/s Gurudev Motors who are well known for all sorts of stuffs other than being good.

Never in my life I had thought about buying a used car.

But came across one low mileage 2019 Octy 1.8 TSI DSG and it has changed my life. Paid a couple of lakhs less than what I had spent on a brand new Kia Seltos DCT in 2019, but the overall experience is simply awesome.

Was eyeing the new Octy, but it was way overpriced than something that it offered above this one. I am a bit skeptical on remap, as that would potentially wear off the clutch and the infamous DQ200 gear box and moreover I still have 3.5 years of warranty left.

For a car, especially a sedan it is nice to see Skoda doing reasonable numbers consistently with the Octavia.
Like others have shared their respective photos and memories with their Octavia, here is ours.
We fondly call her Sasha. Ours is a 2017 2.0 TDI Style Manual finished in Quartz Grey shade.
The Octavia has always been a drivers car and one that still remains the best car that money can buy under 30 lakhs.

We've had the pleasure of owing 2 of the 4 generations of Octavia's sold in India & came very close to picking up an Octavia vRS 230.
I won't lie when I say that the current Octavia too has me tempted : perfect size for the city, comfortable & solid for expressway cruising, safe and well built, with good performance!

Interestingly, I believe that could very well be our silver 2007 Skoda Octavia Combi L&K 1.9TDi in Skoda's official image! The number plate is hard to read but I doubt there are many MH01AE registered Silver Combi Diesel's around.

The only gripe being the limited driver seat travel, which resulted in me driving it lesser than I would have liked to.

The second was the Laura 2.0TDi L&K (2012 Skoda Laura L&K TDi - Remapped by Tune-O-Tronics. Update: Sold at 75,000 km) : a beautiful machine, one which I took on several road trips beyond the usual Mumbai - Pune circuit!
