For a car that has been around for 21 years, don't the numbers look pretty less.

Of course I understand it's a CKD unit and cannot be compared to a Mass market one, however the numbers translate to just around 400 units on an average per month which seems pretty less.

If Skoda wants numbers, they must launch low end models of Octavia. There is no Active/Ambition variant of current gen Octavia. In international market, we have Octavia with 1.5 TSI Engine variant as well. If they ever decide to plug the gap between Slavia and Octavia, they can launch the above variants starting from 1.5 Active Octavia at 20L Ex-showroom all the way upto L&K variant with 2.0 TSI Engine.

The Skoda Octavia has always been an enigma to me. In Europe, the Octavia generally has the image of a reliable cab car similar to the Camry or Corolla in other countries. I wonder why the Octavia that Skoda sells in Europe is more reliable than their Indian counterparts! One reason I can think of is the DSG gearbox since most euro cabs are diesel manuals, also the Octavia sold in India is generally a higher spec one with more features (so more to go wrong). But is there anything else I'm missing?

Diesel manuals are quite reliable even in India. Rarely seen people complain about it. It's the DQ200 which has most of the issues. Also for some reason, high running VAG cars tend to be trouble free even here in India. It's the low mileage cars which usually have many issues.

The Skoda Octavia is one of the cars I had a lot of fun and great memories with. I have driven only the TSI's and they are so smooth and fast. Really love their design!

Picked up a Pre owned 2017 Octavia 1.8 TSI with 38K kms during the peak of the COVID lockdowns in 2020. The car came with Maintenance Package taken by the previsous owner and i purchased the additional extended warranty from end. As of today the odo stands at 51K kms. It has been a satisfying ownership so far.

Call me biased, but to me the Laura FL is still a looker. The current one is a bit too feminine for my taste. Here is a pic of my 2011 TDI done 1L+ kms. Despite the odd tantrums, the joy this machine has given me and my family is unparalleled.

30 Big ones is a lot but Skoda knows this is still the best deal this side of an A4.

Well here’s mine. 2020 TDI L&K. The 2.0 TDI with the DQ 250 is a magical combo. It can give 23 kmpl if required or go like a rocket if required! I so love driving the octy that I now always drive from punjab to my home in kerala and back during me leave! Pics taken along the way on one such trip and later getting her treated at 3M. Out of the Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and the Skoda we have at home, the octavia have also been surprisingly the most reliable so far( all crossed 40k). Hoping that it remains the same. Planning another north to south trip in July

Congratulations to Skoda for reaching this tremendous milestone. They'd have reached this much earlier had their reliability and service been great for the first two generations.

And thank you to Octavia for being the last remaining bastion of fun to drive sedans.

For any upgrade you make after the Octavia, you'll have to compromise on somthing major. The 3 series has bad boot space and rear leg room. The 5 series is too long and still has less rear leg room. The E class isn't fun to drive. The A4 isn't significantly better
That's why it's so difficult to upgrade from.

How does one say no to this stunning beauty?? Nothing at this price point comes close to what the octavia has to offer. The latest generation has taken luxury on offer a few notches higher than the previous gen, not to mention, that sweet 2.0 L under the hood. The car/brand may not be for for everyone due to the anxiety around reliability, but hey, this one is my 2nd from skoda and 3rd from the VW umbrella. I’m a happy camper, until that tent stays on

Here's mine. MY2019 2.0 TDI MT, just 25k on the odo and under extended warranty until Dec 2025. She's a thing of beauty, starting right from her colour. Always trying to find reasons to take her (and the wife ) out on dates.
