Does anybody own a Scorpio here? Is the Scorpio more comfortable to ride in on bad roads compared to cars like the Cielo?

Hey Ashmole,

Well, i have only had the chance to drive and be driven in a deisel scorpio on a good metalled road. I literally felt sick in the back(middle) row of seats. The suspension was just way too hard and i was hitting my head on the smallest of bumps on the road. Maybe the car wasnt loaded to its capacity (had only 4 people in it), maybe the tire pressure was too high, and maybe this has been sorted out by mahindra on newer models (because this was when it had just been launched).

Hi Ashmole,
Well, i hear a lot about new scorpio ! My colleague has new scorpio and he claims the M&M has done a very good job after initial release. I also keep hearing about it new 4X4 model which is yet to be released and presently is done on request. I was also planning for this, but I always take backseat as this engine is made from indian technology with foreign collabaration. I also hear in th forum that Scoripio is planning to come with CRDI engine. If that come out soon, i might consider. Also compared all the SUV available in the india, Scorpio has its own pride because of its compactness. I wish Honda gets the Rev to india soon.

Cheers !

Hi
I own a Honda Civic and i am planning on replacing it with the Mahindra Scorpio VLX 4X4 (with airbags).
Do you think its a good option?
How are the M&M aftersales services? also, how much mileage does the scorpio give in city?

Hey guys, am sure this thread is going to initiate a spark as soon as "Safari" guys see this ! lol: So have you decided to go only for Scorpio or are you open to options?

Even I had the chance of travelling in a Scorpio only on good roads and that was the initial version.

Since you guys are going to spend money, please take extensive TDs [multiple times if required] before putting down that money. I have heard / read that M&M have worked quite a lot on improving the handling and ride quality of Scorpio. And I guess m-hawk gives between 10-12 kmpl in city and around 15kmpl on highways.

There are lots of threads [debates] on the ride quality of Scorpio Vs Safari and also ownership reports which will provide a lot of details. Please make use of search options - and yeah, search works well too! :D

@DNM: Non of the SUVs offer you the comfort that was offered to you by Civic class of sedans. Check the following thread for more:

If you are OK with that fact, then yes Scorpio is a no tension vehicle in its class.

Seems to me like this topic would be more relevant in the "what car" section.

@DNM - could you open a new thread in the "what car" section of the site?

I have tried to search for new upgraded Scorpio everywhere but couldn't find any clue . Is there any news regarding when will be the new Scorpio launched. Will it be launched before the all new SUV which is going through trials or is it due before that.

Note from mod: This is a 2004 thread. Please look at various scorpio ownership threads and dedicated scorpio threads for more info
