Mahindra launches lifestyle SUV Scorpio Gateway

BANGALORE: Mahindra and Mahindra, maker of utility vehicles, on Thursday launched its lifestyle Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) - Scorpio Gateway.

Gateway is based on the Scorpio platform and sports a grand deck that can carry various equipment and gear as per an individual's lifestyle needs.

"Scorpio Gateway is a lifestyle offshoot of the Scorpio, which, while retaining its stamped ruggedness, comfort and class, is also designed to provide superlative luxury and style", M & M Automotive Sector Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Vivek Nayer said.

"Gateway"????

Well,... I had expected it to be the "Getaway"

Whatever,... what's new?

Hope not the 2 more cup holders inside and spare roof rails
Looking forward to more. Let me look around.

EDIT: saw their website, annoying to know that they name it "Getaway" and still have the 4WD as optional!! looks good though. But this was in their export line already. yeah?

No he is talking about the base model of crde.

And M2Di has the older scorpio di turbo engine not the bolero di engine.

Scorpio Getaway

Today I saw this scorpio Getaway version on the roads of bangalore. I wonder is this new, and how much it costs etc. It had a four seater with the large space at the back for loading with stuff.

Any info?

Not sure about the price. We have one here with bigger tyres and other accessories. It looks damn great. It is a sure head turner.

Saw it on the NH8 expressway today morning. Looks very very nice. Very intimidating road presence.

PS: It was scary driving at clicking at the same time. Wonder how people do it regularly.

Is the vehicle moving? It appears to have come to a halt? Nice pics!

It was moving when I saw it first and started clicking. It slowed down and moved to the extreme left lane when I overtook it and clicked the last one.

I have a question here! Is the Getaway available only in this color? I have never seen it in any other color.

Edit: Just noticed the rear bumpers. Looks like the same style is being used in the "new" facelifted scorpio with some minor changes to suit the Scorpio rear.. However, this bumper was there for a long time.
