No way it looks similar to storme, but to me it's kind of REVA-ish !
Overall am happy with the utilitarian look!

90BHP Multijet in WR? Even Swift is equipped with the 75BHP version!

Though boxy in essence, this Stingray model can arrest some sales going to i10, IMO.

It seems that you have more hatred for Hyundai rather than love for Maruti Suzuki. But a 1L ~60 bhp 3-Cylinder (similar to the one in Beat Diesel) should be sufficient to keep competition at bay (or even sink them in... as you wish).

I somehow like this stingray, but I am clueless as to whether MSIL plans to release this in India, if yes, when?

Going by the reports and articles on a few websites and some papers, MSIL, definitely has that planned for India. It also looks very sauve. And if they can price it correctly, i definitely feel they will get a niche customer base for that car.

Re: Is there a WagonR Stingray for India and when?

I hope we get the below additions to VXi spec in Stingray
  • ABS
  • Dual airbags
  • Auto Climate control
  • Alloys
  • Spoiler

Currently we get only driver airbag and ABS even in the VXi Option spec. I hope they get rid of that storage space for two coke cans in place of passenger airbag at least in Stingray.

Not sure if dash-mounted gear is a good thing for India, since a tall driver always has to reach out to the dash for the gear. Current Stingray seems to be having it though along with ACC.

I hear that Alloys would be available for sure. Lets wait and see.

Re: Is there a WagonR Stingray for India and when?

Looks like a lot of peoples prayers are going to be answered. If the reports on the net are to be believed, we will have the Stingray in India by Oct-Nov 2013. And for a change, the car looks pretty neat.
