Tata Motors is likely to introduce new features on the XT variant of the Tiago hatchback.
The Tiago XT could soon get a height-adjustable driver seat and 14-inch hyper style wheels. It is also expected to get a rear parcel shelf, a vanity mirror and a blacked-out B-pillar.
At present, the Tiago comes in five trims - XE, XT, XT (O), XZ and XZ+. The car is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 84 BHP and 113 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
Tata Motors also offers the Tiago with a factory-fitted CNG kit. When running on CNG, the engine develops 72 BHP and 95 Nm.
Meanwhile, the Tiago NRG could get a new XT variant. It is likely to be positioned below the XZ+ trim.

How long will TATA Motors continue with this dated design?. Forever, is the answer , especially now since the company is back in Indian management. They will keep making this car till people eventually lose interest and move on to other marques and then they will be back to square one. Yet they will never invest in an updated design to keep interest alive in this segment. Typical, TATA motors.

haven't you noticed that Tata Motors updated Nexon with entirely new front and rear design in short period of time. The new Nexon is already in works. The also updated the Tiago front and rear 2 years back. New Tiago is in pipeline as well. They are frequently updating their models with new features and trims.
Tata Tiago is a solid car and certainly deserves more oomph under it's bonnet. The 1.2L turbo from the Altroz (in slightly lower state of tune) would really make it a very enticing proposition rather than some useless gimmicky features.
This is a necessary move. The tiago XZ+ now has projector headlamps, which is also a great move. The feature gap between XT and XZ+ is vast.
A lot of buyers are moving to other manufacturers due to this. Half of the buyers do not want to buy the top end, they want a VFM mid variant. It's clearly missing in the tiago and this has reflected in sales for a while now. The NRG and CNG being introduced, and yet tiago sells only ~4500 per month.
While the height adjust driver seat is great, hyper style wheels feels more like a downgrade. Has anyone seen a hyper style wheel after removing the wheel cap. It looks so weak. I wouldn't trust that wheel. A big bump and the wheel would bend.
More than the parcel tray and vanity mirror, it needs the rear wiper/defogger. These can be done added to the official accessories list.

Is there news on the new Nexon, or a related thread/scoop on it?

I see this as a bad thing. There are simply too many variants on the Nexon, and its difficult to understand or choose one. Tata needs to maintain consistency in a product. Anyone should know what feature is in which variant. That's how a product becomes popular. Frequent changes in feature distribution reminds me of the variants juggle ford did to figo and ecosport before they call it quits.
In 2019, when I bought the Tiago XZ+,(which was the top model then), the feature set difference between 2019 XZ+ and one model below that, the XZ, was exactly the same features as listed elsewhere in this thread.
In fact, early 2019, I got a few more stuff, which were subsequently deleted in future Tiago models including the facelift. They were:
- under bonnet insulation
- 4 rear parking sensors in the rear bumper
- rear wheel arch liners (full)
- Rear, both sides, reversing lamps
- One touch down driver power window
It seems TML is just bringing back the 2019 Tiago XZ variant. Very shrewd of them I must say!
Of all the hatchbacks, this is one car that ticks all the required boxes for me. The design is cool, has a safety record and mostly is affordable/low running costs. TATA should invest more on such products, has the potential to beat the Maruti and Hyundai twin products.
Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG XT variant at 6.42 lakhs.
Tiago NRG will now be available in two trims – XT NRG and XZ NRG.
The new Tiago NRG XT variant comes with
- New 14” Hyperstyle Wheels,
- 3.5” Infotainment System by HarmanTM,
- Steering Mounted Controls,
- Height Adjustable Driver Seat,
- Front Fog Lamps.
Tata Motors celebrates 1st anniversary of Tiago NRG.

My mom purchased a Tiago XZ+ in May. Last week, she decided to purchase the Extended Warranty for 3 years. She made the payment and was provided a tax invoice copy by the SA. The description on the document just stated "3 year EW for Tata Tiago Petrol Wizz, XT, XM, XZ, NR", while the chassis number was mentioned as well. However, they did not provide a proper Extended Warranty Certificate - something that I got from VW Goa when I had purchased extended warranty for my Polo.
Today I went to the service centre and asked for the certificate, to which they plainly said that they just issue a tax invoice to all the customers and no one complained. I argued that there should be a certificate attached with the invoice that states the date of EW purchase and more importantly, the period of coverage. I even showed them the invoice and certificate from VW. But they just shrugged saying nothing could be done. Eventually, I asked them to open their database and just clicked a photo of the period mentioned, took the invoice and left.
I wanted to know if I was right in asking for a specific certificate or if the invoice is sufficient. I may have been a bit hostile here but then I've read quite a lot of stories of cheat dealers out there and just wanted to have a proper document in hand.
Let me know guys.

I understand the completely redesigned front for the Nexon, but the rear design and the side design still looks the same as that of the original Nexon. I sincerely wish they change the rear design of Nexon as it does not gel with the much more handsome/butch front design

If it is invoiced then it will be in their system. I would suggest to install TMSC App on the phone and see if the EW is added.
I also didnt get the certificate but the EW is showing and updated in the TMSC App.
Hope it helps.

Yes, I downloaded the app and it has the EW, among other things. Thanks a ton!

Typical tata. Rear wiper is shown in the video, but it won't be available in the car. A similar thing was done with Nexon XM(S).
Front fog lamps and infotainment system can be bought as an accessory. Even alloy wheels can be bought aftermarket. Tata could've provided rear wiper/washer, and it would've been a true VFM variant. Can't neglect the commendable addition of height adjust driver seat though.
