As per Vahan Info app, this is a Force Trax, but seating capacity is not mentioned. Can't find any other details, except the Insurance Policy Number.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

C'mon guys. why is everyone hung upon the exclusivity of the 3 door Gurkha?

The 5 door Wrangler hasn't stopped the jeep from being an iconic vehicle. The Landcruiser shares its nameplate with an utilitarian LC70 that is still stuck in the 80s, Mercedes Benz hasn't lost an iota of its brand power even if the garbage trucks in many global cities have the tri-star, the G class is still being used as an utilitarian vehicle and by armies all over the world.

I find it cool that Force motors is even testing such a vehicle!!!

Sure don't understand why. AFAIK, it is the same engine. it makes 115bhp/350nm in the larger versions of the Traveller, in BS6 too. Then why is it limited to 90bhp/250nm in the Gurkha? Or even the Toofan/Cruiser?

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

As far as 13-seaters go, this is the best looking one so far . I see no harm in experimenting with this variant. Force is anyway a tiny player and any bump-up in volumes will help, especially when its a product from the existing parts bin. A 4x4 can certainly have a use case in rural areas and touristy destinations.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Excellent ! IMO this design looks the most harmonious so far on the Gurkha platform. Other than the selected Alloy Wheel design (I'm not a fan) which sort of look similar to my F30's Style 397 overall love this design & surely will have tremendous road presence in real life. Glad that Force motors is exploring different iterations of the Gurkha & this particular one looks really desirable to my eyes.

Agreed.

IMO this is a Trax Cruiser nine seater earmarked to ferry company officials and guests, and it has been done up so locals and cops do not mistake it for a vadaap, the Jeep taxi. I don't think that Force Motors has any plans yet for such an extra long Gurkha, but yes, we can dream

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Wishful thinking - 3 row 7 seater (2+2+3 seater) Luxury version ala Chevy Suburban in an off-road attire. Even LR Defender is launching an Ultra-Luxury version of the 130 while there have been many custom houses like Twisted, Brooklyn Coachworks etc.

Is there a market? unfortunately no.

Force Motors will want the commercial buyers to use it as people carriers and a Luxury version will have no market interest when it looks similar to a people carrier.

Same here, Mate. I think the vehicle looks unusually cool, especially with the new front fascia and suitable alloy wheels. The old Toofan looked drab tbh but this stands out from the crowd.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Good move by Force Motors. They are looking at the Indian hilly regions for sure. I have seen many Mahindra pick ups 4x4 in Leh region and locals have no option but to travel in those to visit their remote places from which they belong to ( confirmed by many locals with whom we had chats). Also in the pilgrim season; many people travel in current trax / tempo traveller. There will be another good and comfortable option with 4x4 capabilities.

Interesting to see the future of this one.

Cheers

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Thanks to Sanjit Tripathy for sending these images in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing them with other enthusiasts via this Team-BHP share page!

I ran the licence plate number (MH 14 KB 8514) on a mobile app and have got the details as shown in the attached screenshots. Hope this helps the forum members. "Car Info" is the app, which I used to procure the details.

Below are some of the key highlights:

Car Model: Trax Cruiser
Fuel Norms: BS6
Registered colour: Snow white
Unloaded weight: 2125 kg
Number of seats: 10

Force Motors should launch this as a competition to the Mahindra Bolero Camper Dual Cab and erstwhile Tata Xenon XT, at the lower end of the Lifestyle Pick Up segment, and they surely have another winner up their sleeves. I'm sure this can be priced below the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.

It looks dope in this rendering! Such a bada*s design would surely work in the Gurkha brand's favor.

Maybe they can launch the whole brand as:-
Gurkha -> 3 door variant
Gurkha Xtreme -> 5 door variant
Gurkha Xpedition -> Dual Cab Lifestyle Pick Up (you need such pick ups for your expeditions and related stuff)
Gurkha xyz -> This scooped Trax style covered version

They already have name patents for the Xtreme and Xpedition!

So they are using the number plate of another of their factory registered vehicles?

The vehicle images in the OP are surely not "Snow white" in colour.

Also doubt if the Trax Cruiser will have the snorkel and sport GURKHA lettering in the front as in the images shared in the OP.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

I love the stance of this vehicle!

It would be a great donor vehicle for an expedition/camper build.

I don’t think it dilutes the brand value, if at all, it adds more U-tility to SUV.
But for Gods sake, Force please take care of the S, minimum 150bhp/400NM needed!
Or else, on steep hairpin bends which would most probably be a 3-point turn on this vehicle, the poor driver will need to use low range, to save the clutch.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

The 3 Door 4 seater version is 17.5L OTR Bombay.

The 5 Door 6 Seater version could be at the lowest 19-20L OTR Bombay

The 5 Door 8/9 Seater versions could be at the lowest 21L OTR Bombay

The 5 door 13 Seater version could be at the lowest 22L OTR Bombay

In all variants add 50k for essential accessories.

So these are not low cost or cheap by any standard. They are priced slightly higher or equivalent to similar spec Thar (non AT 3 door 4 seat hard too) or ScorpioN (5 door Z4 4x4 MT).

Wish for 115 BHP and Diwali or earlier launch. Else the adequate 90 BHP on 3 door version will be inadequate on a heavier 5 door version.

A twin cab load bay version would be a dream variant. Do that with a triple axel and we would all be drooling.

I quite like the idea! Hope they do not price it exorbitantly when launched.
