Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

As I had posted on the other group, the showrooms have temporarily stopped taking booking of the Fortuner 4x4 diesel too though the 4x2 variants are available.

Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

I have a 2019 used crysta 2.8 GX AT run 40k kms in Bangalore. Due to the diesel uncertainty I posted for sale in olx as well as Team BHP. To my surprise I am getting offers of 1.5 to 2 lakhs more than my purchase price in 2020.

My intension is to clear this vehicle from my garage and migrate to bs6 petrol (hycross or fortuner petrol or a 330i). What do you guys think, is this move right? Or should I continue using my Immaculate Condition crysta for next 5 yrs till diesel eventually vanishes and I get scrap value (possibly)

Being a guy who jumped and got what was supposedly the last 2.4L ZX diesel manual variant about two weeks ago, I say keep the car cause there’s no real replacement for that 2.8L mill. Also at the same time, it’s a Toyota. The ASC will always have parts for the car available even 10 years down the line.

I’ve always been a guy who drives and owns VAG sedans but took the plunge for a Toyota cause there’s no reliable alternative for the Toyota branded cars.

Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

I have been a petrol guy all my life. But my 2022 Innova diesel 2.4 AT changed my perspective. That torque is so addictive. You need power say on overtaking, all you need to do is punch the accelerator, the 2 ton vehicle surges ahead with 6-7 people on board. Which car in the current market can do this, I doubt.

I may be wrong, but don't think you will get such power delivery in petrol or hybrid cars. The ideal scenario will be wait out for 10 years and get an EV. If the car serves your purpose, why bother about resale value or Diesel getting obsolete.

Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

I have always preferred SUVs and MUVs to be run on diesel and the Innova is no exception, the torque of a diesel is irreplaceable, turbocharged petrols may come close, but only EVs can truly replicate or outperform the torque delivery of a diesel with the instantaneous torque which an EV delivers.

The Innova Hycross is a bridge to the transition to EVs and I sincerely hope it is going to have a powerful engine to complement the electric motor.

Despite all sorts of rumours and price hikes, Toyota Innova and Fortuner sales seem to be on track.

Will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable shift in the petrol:diesel split in September for the Fortuner and Innova

Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

Diesel-powered Innova and Fortuner sales are consistent till September 2022. However, Toyota seems to be increasing wholesale of the petrol variant. Whether it will convert to retail or there will be discounts in future is yet to be seen.

Was at the dealership on last Sunday. As per SA, Diesel will be back in 2023. However allocation will be very less.

If it turns out to be true, those waiting to sell their diesel Innova Crystas would have a field day.

Re: Toyota stops taking bookings for Innova Crysta diesel | EDIT: Back in Jan 2023

Diesel Crystas are coming, albeit only in ZX trim and 3-4 allotments per dealer. For this month, dealer of my city received 4 allotments.

Meanwhile, for lesser driven cars, there is a tremendous demand and people are actually selling at far higher prices than they bought for, also helped by the fact that prices of Innova kept going up every year.

I dont see any other details elsewhere except this new image which appears to be a minor facelift. Autocar surely has some sources. Any idea on the pricing if there is a further increase? No automatic on offer is a huge downer along with that five speed manual.

It also looks like the tyre size has been tweaked to provide the 17 inch rims with fatter rubber.

What will be interesting is the sales split between the Crysta and the Hycross with the presence of the entire G to Z range of the Crysta. People still look for a diesel engine and unless Toyota will make it really difficult to buy a Crysta, there will still be takers for it considering that it was absent for a while and now the rumours of it going off shelves is no longer valid.

Im trying to ebook but I can see there are many variants like VX flt (7S), GX flt (8S), G1 flt (8S), Can someone clarify what that "flt" means? Is that limited edition?
