Yest that one looks like the new Montero. Montero is the US version of Pajero which is now available here. Pajero is still available I guess.

Exactly. Hasn't this been also sold by HM for sometime now ~35 Lakh? I have also seen few imported ones too.

The new-gen Montero has almost same shape, with some minor mods

I agree with this. They have taken the two-tone paint thing a bit too far.

The new Montero would be a huge success if it were brought in through CKD. They are killing the product with this CBU pricing.
Outlander can be the only saving grace for Mitsubishi now, it has great potential to click in the market if its priced well. If not Mitsubishi is in big trouble with another flop show to its portfolio.

According to what I heard last, Mitsubishi had more sales for its Montero than Toyota Prado. And they sure are making some big bucks with these import offerings. That's what they meant when they said " we are looking to be an important player in Niche market."

The montero sells for 35.8 lacs ex showroom mumbai, which means the OTR price 42.2 Lacs! Seems expensive, but for this price, u cant get a better SUV in India..
The older version Pajero sells for 21.8Lacs, almost half the price!

If they had launched the monty in CKD form, they'd have had everyone else running for cover. Pretty sad they are selling it as a CBU. I'm not sure why mitsu doesnt want to be aggresive.

Drove the Monty again last weekend, and man....that beast impresses like no other. It has pretty much everything you could want in an SUV : Butch looks, competent diesel, off-road capability, multiple seating arrangements, balanced ride & handling and is loaded to the brim with goodies.

Loved the new common-rail. The 3.2 is very responsive, and this coupled with a fine chassis made for a fun "ripping" session. I was surprised at how balanced the handling was, while the heavy duty suspension ate up Mumbai's worst potholes without a hiccup. Scores full marks on the feel good factor and comes across as a heavily engineered machine. If only it wasnt a CBU.

I literally drove the pants off the Mitsu....now for a donor Montero to take off-roading
