The Kushaq was the first model to be launched in India under the VW Group’s 'India 2.0' project. The SUV is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which it shares with the Volkswagen Taigun.

In India, the Kushaq is available with two turbo-petrol engine options. These include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI that makes 113 BHP and 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder TSI that puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm.

A 6-speed manual transmission is offered as standard, while the 1.0L engine gets a 6-speed automatic and the 1.5L motor comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Re: Left-hand drive Skoda Kushaq production begins in India

One year later LHD production has started that means Indian cars sold till now were still being tested not by the company but by customers…

Issues seem to have been ironed out, hardly get to read about an issue in the Kushaq now.

Once all issues have been ironed out, have they started producing the LHD version for export!

In a way better, otherwise, if these issues were reported in global markets it would have been called out as a Made in India issues rather than VAG issues

Made-in-India Skoda Kushaq exports commence

Skoda Kushaq is now the third model based on the MQB-A0-IN platform to be exported from India. Both left hand and right hand versions of the Kushaq built at the Chakan plant are being exported to Arab Gulf Cooperation Council countries and a few countries in the Indian sub-continent.

The first lot of export-spec Kushaq LHD models will be sent to the Arab Gulf. Kushaq is also the first Skoda model to be exported from India. Last month production of the LHD version of the SUV began at the Pune facility.
