Hindustan - Mitsubishi Outlander: will be out in first week of October and expected to be priced between Rs18 - Rs20 lakhs (as the Outlander will be assembled at Hindustan Motors Chennai plant). Hindustan Outlander will compete with Honda’s CR-V and Chevrolet Captiva.
18-20L? What happened to the assembled in India hence cheaper argument? At that price, I'm afraid dear HM, the CR-V will remain king of the hill.

while Mitsubishi tries to get the Outlander to India, it is being facelifted world wide. I hope they don't delay the launch and decide to get this.

Yesterday night @ around 7.30 P.M spotted a white color Outlander with temporary registration number (white numbering on a red colored board) at Nandanam signal, mount road. There was no masking and could clearly see the Outlander badging at the back. I was on my bike, so was not able to click any pics.

Guess the launch should be sometime very soon.

WOW! looks like Lance Evo front looks now. Will look much more dominating & killer.

By the way, spotted ARAI test Black Outlander last week on Dhole Patil road at night. Looks very impressive. The LED tail lamps are sparkling. sorry, I was not able to snap.

In another thread someone has told that that it will be launched on 3rd Oct. Hope they price it well for India. The new one has even more killer looks. Something definite worth waiting for.

Did it look like the facelifted version?

Most manufacturers would be smart enough to launch with the latest facelift versions but going by what HM is doing with the Pajero, i wouldn't be surprised if the Outlander launches as a pre-facelift version.

Yesterday I happened to speak to the sales guy at Southern Motors who had sold me CEDIA. He was actually in Chennai attending Outlander training. And it is coming in Oct – not sure of the exact date though – may be 3rd as pointed out by some.

typical of HM to give us the pre face-lift model.

When will they ever learn?

The facelifted model is not even into production. How will HM start selling that in India when its unavailable everywhere?

Going by the spy pic it looks like the facelifted outlander is going to resemble the CX concept (also termed as baby outlander). This is way too aggressive and is likely to keep some customers away. Personally I feel the current model has very pleasing and non-offending look to it.

Is the Outlander coming in Petrol or Diesel ?

Coz if it is deisel it is one up on the CRV. I think the CRV is going to come in the deisel avtaar just after the Outlander.

OT : The Tiguan is a Deisel - so let us see...this is going to be a very interesting segment to watch in the near future !!

3 similar vehicles waiting to pounce on the segment which has practically no contenders.

The fun begins !!!

Cheers
