Boy, this is fantastic.. Waiting to see how Honda reacts as it has significantly more loaded with features.. All other SUV's in the 20+ bracket will also face problems..Itching to test drive this vehicle and of test out the ICE as well..

We are very disappointed with the pricing( if its what written here 20.20lakhs). Someone at HM/ Mitsu ought to have gone mad. 5 seater, no sunroof, no diesel, smaller wheels and they expect us to pay this huge amount just for paddle shift.

CRV suddenly seems to be a much better VFM option. Captiva still better and wish they launch AT with similar pricing. Better still- fortuner , wish it comes now.

The pricing is very high for this vehicle. Mitsubishi is not as strong a brand as Honda and they must not price it this high, but IMO, they will find success because of the looks and features.

In Europe, Outlander is available with
1) 2.0 ltr. diesel.

and
2) 2.2 ltr diesel.

The Success of Captiva proves what can be achieved through diesel.
If Mitsubishi brings in diesel, then CR-V and Captiva will surely feel the heat more.

good to see the site running. car looks terrific with all the specs in place apart from those tyres. It certainly needs 17-18 inchers. Apart from this , it looks good. Love those tail lamps.

CR-V 2.4 manual is 19.79L on-road Delhi & this is 20.20 ex-showroom so about 21.5L on-road. Hmmm.....people are going to pay 2L more than the CR-V for a Mitsubishi product? I'm not so sure.

Checked the website, Mitsubishi has done a fantastic job with Outlander. I am looking forward to take it for a test drive soon and share with all here. Even if it is priced at 21 ex - showroom, it deserves that kind of price given what they have provided in this vehicle.

By the way, those Honda and Suzuki lovers should also check it out to understand what SUVs should be. CRVs are "supposedly" SUV in India and lesser I say about Grand "Pitara", better I am.

(Sigghhhhh) And, in a nutshell, you've defined the mindset perfectly - we are so "starved" so to speak that even middle-level stuff looks top-end to us. Simply because most manufacturers stinge when it comes to offering features.

The point is, guys, we need to forget about even the Fortuner launching at anything below this price because -

• Its a diesel & a Toyota & why the hell would it launch below the Endy or the Outlander for that matter, even if the platform is the Innova's
• If the Captiva is priced the way it is (because the CRV is priced the way it is) & the X-Trail is priced the way it is, the Fortuner would be at similar levels or one step ahead.

I wonder what the options & price points will be when my Dicor EMIs are up & 3 years have elapsed. Going by present pointers, I'll have to shell out double the price for other options.

I'll probably stick with the 2.2 or whatever else is available at that point..........

That's a relief. Do you have any specific experience with GV that you can share with us? I am curious because you are willing to pay 24.6L on-road to Outlander just by looking at the specs, in comparison I only paid 16.77L on-road for GV and quite happy with it. With 7.5L difference in price, I don't think you can compare Outlander with current GV. May be it can be compared with 2009 GV, for that we need to wait couple of months.

You have quoted 19.79L for the Manual, but the Outlander is an Auto.
Just checked Honda site and it quotes Delhi:
4wd MT 2.4 - 19.20L
4wd AT 2.4 - 19.90L
(ALL PRICES EX-SHOWROOM)

Do your prices include some dealer discounts?

Real difference between the two models on a like for like basis is only 30K (Presuming the 20.20L price is correct).
