Rumour: Tata Tiago NRG CNG variant launch in November 2022

According to media reports, Tata Motors is likely to launch CNG variants of the Tiago NRG soon. It is said that the official prices could be announced in the first week of November.

The Tiago NRG is the more rugged version of the Tiago hatchback. The car gets plastic body cladding all around, a silver skid plate at the front, roof rails and other bits to differentiate it from the standard car. The pseudo SUV offers a ground clearance of 181 mm and rides on 14-inch Hyperstyle wheels.

The Tiago NRG iCNG is expected to be offered with the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine as the Tiago iCNG. This unit produces 72 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 95 Nm @ 3,500 rpm when running on CNG and comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Why on earth is TATA Motors not offering the TURBO PETROL on the NRG???

Not exactly JTP tune, but a 100 horses turbo petrol could make the NRG an interesting prospect.

100 horses means they could do with the same GC and suspension and yet offer the thrill of a high torque turbo petrol.

Tata Tiago NRG CNG variants priced from Rs. 7.40 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the Tiago NRG i-CNG in India. The CNG version is available in two trims: XT and XZ, priced at Rs 7.40 lakh and Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

The Tiago NRG is a pseudo-crossover based on the Tiago hatchback. It is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine, which has now been tuned to run on CNG. It produces 72 BHP and 95 Nm in CNG mode and comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Tiago NRG i-CNG comes with body cladding all around with faux skid plates just like the petrol version. The car also gets a black roof, black ORVMs, roof rails and dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the Tiago NRG i-CNG comes equipped with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, height adjustable driver seat and an engine start/stop button; among others.

Yet another variant from the TATA stable. They have time and money to do all this but cannot have a DCT for Altroz Turbo. Or a DCT for Nexon.
