Jaguar Land Rover has introduced its curated self-drive adventure program, Defender Journeys, in India.



Defender Journeys is a multi-day drive experience in the Land Rover Defender. It will include four scenic itineraries offering a chance to drive across some of the most iconic routes and off-road trails in India. There will be five Defenders deployed in each Journey, offering five drive slots.

Defender Journeys kicks off with the ‘Konkan Experience’ on January 16, 2023. It consists of a 7-day drive between Goa and Bangalore.

The 'Nilgiri Experience' will offer a chance to explore the forests and tea plantations between Bangalore and Coimbatore. The 'Coromandel Experience' will take participants across the Eastern Ghats from Coimbatore to Chennai, while the 'Malabar Experience' will be a journey between Coimbatore and Kochi.

Jaguar Land Rover will introduce more curated driving experiences throughout 2023.

On the cost front, it looks like a bit more on the higher side (4.5L for 7 days). But, considering the fact that someone is allowing you to drive a 1.5Cr vehicle for 7 days seems to be a reasonable ask. Few of the stay options provided are very good in terms of location and amenities. These are good stay locations even if you wish to go on your own vehicle road trip.

I got this mail from cougar sports, I never knew it was a JLR initiative.

Good job, but better if they improve their reliability first. As someone who would have bought 90 had it been launched by BMW, I can safely say JLR can do 10X the numbers if people know they are investing in something that's dependable.
