Globally, the new X1 is offered with petrol and diesel engine options combined with 48V mild-hybrid tech. Both powertrains are paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, while all-wheel drive is available as an option.

The next-gen BMW X1 is expected to be launched at the third BMW Joytown festival in Bangalore on January 28, 2023. Deliveries could commence in the month of March.

Looks like the regular 3 has been dropped for LCI upgrade? Autocar mentions only the Gran Limo variant being launched for the LCI upgrade.

Yes, I also heard that the only LCI G20 without the extended wheelbase to be launched in India will be the m340i. (Which just got launched last week). The 320LD has become very popular as people perceive they are getting 5-series levels space for close to 3-series level pricing.

Unfortunately true, worried looking at the future. Compact sedans are going extinct. Hope BMW brings the 240i to India.

Last i checked in Chennai, 330i limo was around 75 lacs on road, regular would have been 55ish how did they decide to discontinue it ?

Looks like new X1 will sit in the 55 lac range then, crazy state of things

Got a message from the local dealer that 2023 X1 is available for 2022 prices as an offer. EVM . Don't know if it meant 2023 manufactured.

DCT in Diesel as well? That is a change and not a great one at that. Currently, only petrol is coming with a DCT. Oil burner comes with a 8 speed TC which is a peace giver compared to the DCT which is generally plagued with reliability issues. Not sure why this change in such a great update.

re: Next-gen BMW X1, now launched at 45.90 lakhs!

Though BMW X1 F48 2016 was a success this new one U11 2023 will be a failure.

Instead of a new product becoming better; its a downgrade.

Diesel engine will be 18d making a measly 150 BHP.
Petrol engine will be 18i making a meagre 136 BHP.

This would be BMW India, VW TRoc/Audi Q2 moment.

Plus 8 Speed AT becoming 7 Speed DCT means lower reliability. Flappy door handles are yuck. Reminds you of 90's car. It isn't an EV that it needs aerodynamics.

X1 U11 will be a dead on arrival product.

New BMW X1 owner spending 50 Big ones and getting smoked by a previous gen X1 or even a VW Virtus GT 1.5 TSi .

Exactly. I can't fathom the downgrade of diesel. I'm happy on my decision to go with the 2 liter Diesel 2022 model with a good deal. New Q3 looks like a good package now. People checking on X1 will be really depressed to hear the fact that this is just 1.8 liter. CC numbers really matters.

What is the logic behind this engine downgrade? I was actually looking forward to checking out the new X1 incase the Ioniq 5 was overpriced, glad it wasn't.

Source? I can’t fathom BMW India doing this.
AFAIK it was only the design department that was making bad decisions
