Need advice on used honda city 2002 sep model vtec 38000 kms. dealer quoting 5.10 lacs for it. is it okay

I think its good enough. But try for another 15-20k. Its quite a good deal according to me.

Thats a very good deal u getting. And the best part is you are getting a car which has a new ECM. In sept 2002 Honda changed the ECM of the VTEC. The earlier cars had knocking problems which were settled in this change. Just ensure though that what you are getting is the changed ECM one and not the older one.

Other than that i think u are getting a decent deal. Make sure the car doesnt have any major accident history. Also remember 38000 kms is a lot of mileage for two years. See if the parts have normal wear and tear since 40-50000 kms is where major repairs start coming in, changes to major parts come in. depending on previous owners use. One part that could need change are tyres. See if the tyres have more than 2 mm depth if they are first set. If not, haggle with your dealer to reduce the price. I think try and get the price down to below 5. Also check interiors for wear and tear. Though most people i've seen do take care of their citys, its the norm, but exceptions where people have mishandled their cars do exist. Check the car and history before plunging in. Besides that i think you are getting a car that is fabulous by all counts.
