Octavia Superb have been discontinued for good, at least with the 2.0 TSi . That engine’s RDE compliant version comes mated with the 4x4 drivetrain configuration. It will come in Kodiaq, Tiguan and Q3 only. The sedans, if they return, will be in the 1.4 plug in hybrid guise. This has been discussed in detail in the Octavia Superb discontinued thread.

So I should just accept now that there will be no e20 compatibility confirmation from VAG, as there cannot be.

Two entirely different technical requirements here!

One is the compliancy with BS6.2 RDE emissions regime which can be attained by a E10 vehicle too.

The second is the E20 fuel compliancy which VAG (till date) has not explicitly stated for the new 4x4 engine/tranny combination either.

Best to wait and watch. There is no way VAG will risk selling an E10 new launch knowing customers will simply shy away from.

It seems Maruti Brezza is now e20 compliant. Someone has shared this image from the manual on Facebook. I wonder why Maruti has not publicly announced it like other car manufacturers.

If it's true, kudos to Honda.
Thoughtful and remarkable move proving helpful in current E20 fuel era thereby removing dilemmas of pre-E20 Honda car owners regarding fuel incompatibility.

It seems the Swift manual also has the same verbiage.

Cars from VAG manufactured from March 2023 onwards are E20 compliant. Took delivery of an E20 compliant Virtus a couple of days ago.

Looks like Honda cars were E20 compliant forever.

(Past tense used since all models shown in that article are discontinued)

Sounds good. Can someone post a copy of the 2022 manual, so that we could compare?

Has anyone driven the E20 bs6.2 variant and the E10 bs6 versions of the same car? Is there any noticeable difference in performance or mileage?

There is not going to be any difference as such. E20 ready means they are only changing the materials of certain parts so that the ethanol does not corrode them.

The difference in drive will come from the ethanol content of the actual fuel that goes into the car. Ethanol’s calorific value is 30% less than pure petrol, so this will show in both performance and fuel efficiency. They have increased the ethanol % gradually from 5 to 8 to 10 to 12 to 15, so we don’t feel a sudden change. But if you drive your daily car on pure petrol today (it’s not available anymore) your car will suddenly feel lighter and more peppy.

I hope this is true. Can any one verify the information in the article above ? I can’t find my 2014 Honda’s owners manual.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

The Curious case of MG and E20 compliance

So I happen to own a 2022 M.Y MG Astor 1.3 turbo whose user's manual mentions nothing about E10 or E20 compliance. Nothing specific to ethanol blend compliance is also to be found inside the fuel lid. As MG provides only a soft copy manual (PDF), it is easy to do a Ctrl+F to search for specific terms like ethanol, E10, E20, E5, blend etc. To my surprise, none of these terms exists in the manual - simply no mention whatsoever. I have mailed to MG thrice seeking clarity on the Astor's compatibility with E10/E20 petrol, but they have just refused to respond. Wonder what's cooking!

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

I had booked a Brezza (CNG), the dealer says that the car has arrived but it is a BS6 Phase I car and not the Phase II car, plus they don't have any updates on when the Phase II cars will be available.

Should I wait and get a Phase II car or should I get the Phase I version? Dealer says there will be a price hike of around 40k on the Phase II car.
