It might have peaked out at 15.4% but doesn't mean this is being dispensed everywhere. Last year when I filed RTIs average blending was 11.8% (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post5643593 (Filed an RTI regarding E20 fuel: Partial reply received)).

Have filed more RTIs seeking info for Apr-Jul 2024. Will post when I get it.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

I am in market for new car and the E20 compliance has caused confusion.

For Maruti’s, seems their new Z series engines are E20 compliant and not K series which means Grand Vitara is currently not E20 compliant. This makes me think, the GV upgrade will be soon. Also I checked on Maruti’s website and owner manual and there is no mention of E20 compliance.

Similarly for Toyota Hyryder Hybrid Petrol engine, no mention of E20 compliant anywhere on the website or manual. Kudos to Honda that they have declared on their website that Elevate is E20 compliant.

The K15C engine in the Grand Vitara and Hyryder has been E20 compatible for almost a year now. My June 2023 manufactured Hyryder is E20 compatible. Had posted the same on post #260.

GV is E20 compliant as per their owner's manual. I think they have updated their owner's manual and you should check it again.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

Had assumed that mass E20 adoption is a long way away. But recently went to the HP pump at the Turner Road junction and found all dispensers were E20 only. The good news was that E20 was prominently displayed - I do hope the government and the OMCs stick to that approach so that we can move to alternate pumps if we don’t want to damage our cars with adulterated fuel. Insane policy, I must say.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

Are Mahindra cars like 3xo ,XUV 700, etc E20 ready ???
I am in the market for a reliable fun to drive car but all these headaches like - e20 fuel,
specific octane number for turbo petrols,
possibility of blended diesel etc.

This all making me super confused.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

The petrol stations near our place are dispensing E20 fuel to unsuspecting owners of older cars and 2 wheelers.

I see a huge spending on repairs of such vehicles, what all things will be affected in these vehicles?

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

Near my place, I spoke to the petrol station workers, and they weren't aware about ethanol blending, E12,E215 or E20. However, in Delhi, I have seen stations with E20, marked as a greener alternative, and most people are refueling old vehicles with the same.

Attached below is screenshot from XUV700 owner's manual. For XUV700 Petrol MT, maximum limit is E10 petrol, while for Petrol AT its E20.

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

This is the most confusing time for a car buyer! That inspite of having the highest number of options available! I have postponed my decision for new car to end of the year or next year!

Diesel cars are not adviced today because of it’s uncertainty. Now there’s confusion for petrol cars as well as to which cars will work to its full potential if the E20 rule is implied in coming years! because most makers, if I’m not mistaken, are saying their cars will or can run on E20 as well. Does it mean it will work as good as it runs on E5 or E10 fuel? Will it affect the power or fuel efficiency somehow?

Same way, we’re, well most of us are, still skeptical about EVs also. As the tech is still evolving and the infra is also getting ready for it.

In the meanwhile, as the thread suggests, can we make a list if cars from different makers, which will work on E20 also. I would like to know about the XUV 700 personally.

I believe all vehicles manufactured after April 2023 are E20 compliant. The BS6.2 norms mandate this.

There should be an impact on performance. Almost all the owner's manuals I've seen include a note like the following:

Quote:
Discontinue using gasohol of any kind if drivability problems occur.
Quote:
Note: If you are not satisfied with the performance or fuel economy of your vehicle when using a 20% ethanol blend, you should switch back to a blend of no more than 10%.
Quoting a couple of posts from the same thread below:

So it’s like trial and error thing. The actual users will be the subject. Like most Indian brand customers in the initial years after the launch of a new vehicle!

Re: List all cars that are E20 and E20+ petrol compliant

I found this while reading user manual for 3xo ,
so basically 3xo can run on 10% blended petrol as well as 20% blended petrol provided they have 95 octane number or above.
