Kia India has released the design sketches of the Clavis SUV.

Kia India chose today to release sketches of what may be called the Clavis / Syros.

The design really looks a lot like the Skoda Yeti of old. Given its design was too polarizing even at that time, I am not sure how it will carry over in recent times where sloping curves and aggressive lines are all the rage. I get that it is 'inspired' to look like the Kia EV9, but this one has nowhere near that size to command the gravitas and rock the design. Personally I think it looks a little too boxy to pass amongst the masses and the D pillar design (or lack thereof) only makes it worse. But then again, design is only half the story. Let's hope Kia delivers on its key strength of features and offering a large spread of variants to satisfy consumer needs.

I guess am looking at an elongated Wagon R. If it's too boxy, then it won't attract a lot of customers. But again, the way Kia has captured the imagination of Indian customers, I won't be surprised if they get a boxy design and still get hold of a huge share in the segment. Was there no noise around this? Did not hear about this planned launch.
