There is lot of discussion on changes in the facelift wrt interiors and exterior design. However very little is said about mechanical changes and driving manner changes. Some reviews say that driving has improved. Can any body throw light on this?
Also why Arai certified mileage is not available for MG cars?

Got confirmation from the dealer that the BS VI Phase II compliant Hector's have reached the dealerships and deliveries will start w.e.f 1st March

Anyone taking delivery post 1st March and paying the increased price, make sure you get yourself the updated version and don't end up paying the higher price for the normal BS VI version

MG HECTOR is the only car which does not show mileage on MID.
I was almost sold on MG Hector but due to its low average, I decided to purchase Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid.

Hector’s MID does show the instant mileage while driving along with speed. Infact MG iSMART shows the average mileage achieved in each trip along with average speed etc. Mine is 2021 Hector diesel and you can refer my recently posted ownership review at below link:-

If mileage is the only concern, then I would ask you to rethink the decision as you are paying almost 8-9 lacs upfront for Hycross. That would cover your fuel and other costs for running Hector for almost the next 10+ years.

Considering city+highway combined average of 10 kmpl for Hector and 20 kmpl for Hycross, which means that for every 20 kms, you are saving 100 Rs (keeping petrol cost fixed for simplicity). That means to break even 900000 Rs, you have to run 1,80,000 KMs. Not sure if I am missing anything. Even if I consider 5 kmpl for Hector, the breakeven will happen at 1,35,000 KMs. If your annual running is 10K KMs, then it will take at least 13+ years to cover that many KMs. I know it's a crude way of computing the breakeven, but this will give you some idea of the running cost (fuel only).

However, if there are other dimensions as well to the decisions, like brand, boot space, ottoman seat, 3rd-row space, design (subjective), resale etc. then it's a different thing.

The MID does not show the Average real time right ? The SA told me that Hector misses out on this (AVERAGE) to be shown in MID.
Yes, on the Application the average might be visible. Isn't it a major miss from MG?

Got a confirmation that Hector deliveries to be started soon. But the overall price increase including MG raise + RDE related raise will be in the range of 1 Lakh for Hector Petrol. Anyone else has got any confirmation/information on the same?

I think you have been wrongly informed by SA. Hector shows real time mileage of fuel being consumed in Km / litre unit in MID. In layman terms yes it’s average being displayed on MID. It’s very much there among various screens of MID which can be toggled through the switch on steering. At least my Hector has it. .I hope this clarifies.

Both of you are right

The first Gen Hector did not have real time FE in the MID, the facelift did and now the latest gen again does not

I also got the same response from 2 dealers in two different cities. I think this is the common script given by MG.
Moreover I feel that 1lac is too steep a hike and will make MG Hector less VFM.

If they increase the price by a lakh, will have to cancel my booking and explore other options. Don't think a 1.5L Hector will be worth 26L. Will be very unfortunate.
