Hyundai India has unveiled the facelifted Grand i10 Nios. Bookings have opened for Rs 11,000.

- Cruise Control, LED Tail lamps, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Highline), ESC, Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Child Seat Anchor (ISOFIX), Fast USB Charger [Type C].

- 4 Airbags (as standard) and 6 airbags as option.

Three powertrain options:-
- 1.2 l Kappa petrol manual producing 83PS & 113.8Nm

- 1.2 l Kappa petrol Smart Auto AMT producing 83PS & 113.8Nm

- 1.2 l Kappa petrol with CNG options producing 69PS & 95.2Nm

Noteworthy is the fact that they have discontinued the 1.0 L turbo petrol. Is this a sign the same engine would be discontinued on other Hyundai-Kia cars too?

No. It would continue to sell in cars like i20, Venue, Sonet.
Turbo discontinuing in Nios/Aura was majorly due to poor sales from the day of launch itself. With no discount on Turbo Nios/Aura one could cross-shop and buy a lower spec-bigger car from their portfolio [i20/Venue] which was always the challenge they had faced.

Hyundai has taken the wraps off the updated Grand i10 NIOS and Aura. Both cars receive a cosmetic update for the 2023 model year. Customers can book the cars by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.

2023 Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS:

The Grand i10 NIOS facelift receives a redesigned front grille and bumpers as well as Y-shaped LED daytime running lights. The car also gets a reworked rear end featuring new wraparound taillights and what appears to be a reflective strip in the centre. It rides on new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the Grand i10 NIOS comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, cruise control and voice recognition.



The hatchback gets a wide range of safety features too. It is loaded with 6 airbags, TPMS, ESC, VSM, hill assist control, automatic headlamps and ABS with EBD, among others.

2023 Hyundai Aura:

The Aura compact sedan has been given a subtle makeover, especially to the front fascia. The car gets a redesigned bumper with a large grille and L-shaped daytime running lights. It gets LED tail lights and a reworked spoiler at the back.

Inside, the Aura gets a similar set of features, creature comforts and safety aides as the Grand i10 NIOS.



The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and Aura are available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 82 BHP and 114 Nm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Hyundai also offers CNG variants of both models.

What an awful front-end.
A 10 year old can make better designs than this. What is wrong with Hyundai India these days.
From a duck face to a lizard face
For an Otherwise, a very practical and best car in the segment.

Don't know why have Hyundai changed the front end of Aura? It looks dated than the current one.
These two are really good cars, but the safety aspect makes it a downer, I wish they were at least 4 star rated.

Whoever thought the design looks good and finalised it should be fired. Both cars look hideous now, both used to look good earlier, even Aura except for the rear end with that forced chrome strip. I have lost all my hopes for the next generation Verna in terms of looks. Wish Hyundai goes back to its Fluidic Design language.

I feel I am the one most disappointed with this decision. This was the only turbocharged petrol car which was offered with a manual from the Korean Stable. Don’t know why they are forcing imts on to the customers. I personally, don’t see any merit to that technology.

Other than additional Airbags, the facelift is quite poor in its execution. The duo looks a little too much curvy for my liking.

I have owned an Xcent 1.2 Petrol in the past and from my experience I am not going to touch the 1.2 NA from Hyundai with a barge pole. It had awful power delivery, fuel efficiency, costly spares and niggling issues. Sold it at 20k kms !

By removing the turbo engine version from both the cars’ portfolios, they have discontinued two of the most fun to drive cars available below 1 million rupees!
In fact, in a drag race shown by powerdrift, the Aura turbo was easily beating the Honda City also.
