Can pardon it as it will be the one that had the most probability of being launched in the first place! Add to that 6 airbags, sunroof, new infotainment and instrument cluster. New GDI turbo engine and at last 6 speed gearbox!!! Poor Altroz diesel. Now only if there is a 0.0001% chance of Tata giving India a real hot hatchback by plonking the 1.5l in the Altroz. At least a limited series.
Always liked how the Altroz looked, this can be the Polo GT successor if Tata put a decent auto gear box along with the turbo petrol engine. We can hope for the 1.5 can't we? But I guess it's going to be 1.2 after all.
I am hoping the sticker job on the production model would not be as over the top.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Apparently the Dark Red editions of Harrier and Safari have been launched with not just new screens, but even ADAS? Is this the facelift we were all expecting?

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

The new 1.2 GDI turbo is BS 6.2 certified - which means this has to be on Nexon and Altroz no later than March 2023, to meet the regulation requirements.

This engine also looks vastly superior on paper, to the engine on the Nexon today. Hope it makes the Nexon a more peppy car to drive around. Though nobody has complained with lack of power on the Nexon, it is not known to be a peppy engine either. And on the Altroz, this engine would work wonders. Praying that Tata does not throw the old archaic 5-speed transmission from Tiago and spoil things once again !

The new features in Dark Red edition are what people were expecting in Harrier/Safari Facelift. These features will trickle down to regular Harrier/Safari as has been seen previously. Tata will probably update the Harrier without calling it a facelift and without asking a hefty price for the new features. The Harrier in present form looks handsome, and making changes to it might be counter-productive.

Quite sure it'll come with the six-speed from the Nexon because the power figures have gone up. The five-speed's torque rating is just 150nm and the Nexon engine puts out 170nm.

I don't think altroz racer would have the 1.2 TGDI. If you refer to post #18 on this thread, you could see Altroz racer specifications on tata site. Its mentioned as 120PS, 170 Nm and 1199cc. The 1.2 TGDI is different in displacement and power. I think the new two TGDI engines are more to do with the E20 compliance rather than BS6.2. It is also possible that Curvv could get 1.2 TGDI, and harrier could get 1.5 TGDI, while altroz and nexon continues to get the current 1.2L turbo MPFI. Also, the current TA65 gear box cannot handle the power and torque of 1.2 turbo MPFI. The altroz diesel's 5 speed is still a mystery. I would say they are more likely to use the nexon 6 speed manual.

iCNG Punch is also showcased with factory fitted sunroof.

Edit: Added youtube link to show sunroof and underfloor spare tyre.

With such a packaging of cng tanks, we should kiss goodbye to standard spare wheel, this will definitely come with only tyre puncture kit. GOI MORTH had also made it not mandatory upon manufacturers to provide spare wheels and can compensate with puncture repair kit.
The YouTube videos do show an underfloor spare tire as well!!!

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

While it is good to see Tata providing different fuel options for its range, I didnt see the rumoured Creta competitor code named Blackbird!

Well, they have two models now in the Creta range!!!

Both the Curvv and Sierra could fight with the Creta for sales.

The Curvv concept (ICE) unveiled yesterday is going to rival the Creta.

Curious as to why Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is missing. If AEB and FCW are present, the HW required for ACC to work should already be there. Perhaps a future software update? Or does ACC require the ADAS system to "see" further than is needed for AEB and FCW?

Missing out on perhaps the most sought after ADAS function- Adaptive Cruise Control!
