Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Tbh the same family design element of Tata looks too boring. Every damn car looks same, this is pure laziness. Tiago and Tigor looks has not been refreshed since ages. Altroz has not seen any change since its launch and now it looks boring to see same car for 5 years. Even Maruti and Hyundai change there car's look every often. Nobody will be able to differentiate between BS IV and BS VI Nexon and now Nexon EV also looks same. Harrier EV looks as same to ICE harrier. Now there's this new addition called "curvv", which has the same face and derriere.

You buy a Tata car and except size, all will look same. Reminds me of late 80s and early 90s when all coatswool shirts had same print just different colours. tata should get some real designers.

BS4 and BS6 Nexon looks extremely different. The facelifted Nexon was launched along with BS6 updates in February 2020

Altroz was launched on Jan 2020, so its just 3 year old and its a great design appreciated by many.

I don't think there is any fault in TATA's design currently and by the way, linking/disliking a design is personal

Nope. Look at the face of Nexon, it looks totally different and like mini-Evoque. Altroz has pretty different face. Harrier, Safari and Punch have similar design theme(from front), though all of them look good.

In fact, I would say that most of the Tata cars look the best in their respective class.

Just because you change it often, doesn't mean that your overall design is good. Tata also refresh their design after a given time.

BS6 Nexon looks radically different from front versus BS4 Nexon. Its sales figure has sky-rocketed after the Range Rover inspired face(lift), if you haven't noticed.

Harrier EV has got quite a different face with new elongated DRLs. Even the rear tail-light design is different.

Curvv looks amazing and nothing like any previous Tata car. It takes its inspiration from cars like X6 and Urus.

The market has spoken. They love current Tata designs. And looking at the response both Curvv and Sierra have got at this Expo, the competition should be very wary of future 'Tata Designs' too, in my opinion

It would be really hard to tell which one is BS4 and which one is BS6.

Extremely different, really? Same body contours, same left, right and back. The only change in body panel was bonnet lip.

pics are from tbhp reviews and posts.

It is so boring that it's look has already aged 5 years in 3 years because, we are seeing same design jumping from one car to another. You are absolutely right that it is all personal and subjective but aren't all derrieres of Tata's cars more or less same?

It is not about whether they look best or not in their class, the question is they all look more or less the same. Can Tata not make cars without sloping roof?

Changing bonnet lip and radiator grill at bottom with "Y" isn't radical.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Tata’s Auto Expo 2023 star was not a car but a screen.

A carmaker that’s always been on the back foot with infotainment might now have one of the best systems yet.

Quote:
- 10.25-inch new-gen touchscreen infotainment UI is clean, minimalist and clear, with large, easily legible text. It’s a quantum leap over the old system

- It’s also intuitively laid out with a series of shortcut widgets presented in large squares (like BMW’s new iDrive 8) that display real-time data without having to go into a sub-menu.
Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023-20230117073845_tata-touchscreen-2.jpg

Quote:
- The slick new 7-inch semi-digital dials screen – now moved to the centre rather than offset to the left.

- This time the tachometer is analogue rather than the speedo, and looks rather small relegated to the left, while the fuel and temperature gauges are on the right.

- The speedo/MID screen seems pretty informative

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

No news about Smaller EVs, AKA Altroz EV and Punch EV...

Tata wants to make money with larger Electric cars with a 20+ Lac segment...

Or they waiting for electric Tiago's success, which is evident even before the release...

Or just waiting for Renault or another small car success story in India.

Is it only me who is disappointed by the petrol engine specs ? Seems like a lip-service given the electrification reality that Tata Motors is committed to. Mahindra makes a lot more power and torque from its competing engines in the XUV700 and Safari.

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

Eagerly awaiting the petrol Harrier which i can guarantee would do substantial numbers!
Our family's daily running isn't much, around 30 kms weekly, but when on trips we go to our ancestral roots in Kangra, which is above 500Kms. Would love to be the proud owner of a Petrol Harrier!

How can there be 2 updates of the same car in a year?

Re: Tata Motors @ Auto Expo 2023

I guess the Red edition will bring in all the needed features (which will trickle down to other versions soon) and the Diwali launch for Petrol Harrier/Safari.

Harrier needed an update considering the competition. Wonder why is Nexon not getting any updates this year !!!!

Here is another link for the facelift spy-shot.
https://www.v3cars.com/news/2023-tat...-spotted-again

Going by this, I don't think we will get 2 updates for Harrier/Safari this year. It is too bad that Tata is playing games like this. They should have given a tentative timeline for the launch. Also they should have given details about the future roadmap for the ICE Harrier/Safari.
