Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

Finally booked the Jimmy today for 11k. Dealer promised to deliver the car within 3-4 months after launch. The wait begins now.

For 11K? Congratulations!! Everyone else paid 25K. Even after paying 11K dealers called up for balance amount.
May the luck continue and you receive the car early.

Thanks, I’ve asked the SA many times but he was always sure that it requires just 11k to book one. Let’s see now if they will ask for 14k after some time or not.

Mine did not. They either got the memo or they didn't.

Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

When I booked the Jimny on January 14 at Varun Motors Nexa Jubilee Hills, they asked me 20k, I negotiated for 15k and paid the amount, SOB and confirmation came next day. I recently got an SMS with Jimny's brochure link but that link did not work and throwing 404 error and I am not sure if that is the same brochure available in the nexa page of jimny or it is a detailed one with accessories information. I checked with the RM and he says expect it in the showrooms by mid-march. That's the only update he has as of now.

True.
The price announcement and customer deliveries of the Jimny and the Fronx are expected in late March or early April.

As launch nears, Maruti Suzuki adds off-roading sites in case you want to create your own #TrueStories, as you own the Jimny!

Yes, one can do it by email request to the Maruti Suzuki representatives whose names appear in the escalation matrix of that particular NEXA dealership/ region. Probably reason or unresolved dispute need to be informed. It once happened with me (MSIL+SBI scam- loan was disbursed without the car allotted, EMI started) and MSIL offered me to change the dealership. However, that was a buyer's market in 2016. Now usually MSIL do not bother to reply or resolve any issue (again, happened with me for the grand vitara).

Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

I have a question for some of you who might be more aware of the driving dynamics of an AT vs a manual transmission - specially when driving in the hills.

I live between Purola/Uttarkashi and Dehradun and a lot (50% or more) of my driving in the Jimny will be on mountain roads.

Would the manual transmission work better than the AT?

Specially if one encounters a sudden steep stretch or a quick overtake on a curvy road. Some of you who are aware of the climb to Landhour in Mussoorie or even the steep climb to Rajpur might be able to understand this situation.

Currently, I've booked an AT but I'm reconsidering if I should shift the booking to a Manual Transmission Jimny.

Thanks

Quick overtakes particularly the spur of the moment types will definitely be better on the manual. For everything else including the Landhour climb would be better in the AT.

So if you can control your urge to do a quick overtaking maneuver on a twisty hill road where you just see till the next curve then the AT will be better in all respects. It will also make you a safer driver.
