Similar thoughts here. I am also planning in very similar lines
I am planning to see the car when it reaches Sarjapura showroom which I think is 31st March and 1st April. My only worry is ride quality and I am thinking it will be hard. People who have driven this elsewhere can comment but bumpy ride quality will spoil my plan.

Just wanted to share the link to the original video which was probably hijacked by the youtuber. The original one shows the full video of the Jimny being taken out of the basement and parked in the showroom for display without the unnecessary visuals and voiceover.

Wanted to share to give views to the original content as well.

Plagiarism issues aside , I love what I am seeing. Looks great on the road (not really huge, but not a toy car as such). Personally, the narrow width will make narrow jungle trails much more accessible (as many on the forum have pointed out) and I would consider it a plus point for actual off-roading.

Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

And so we met in flesh of the first time and I was smitten! The Jimny, gleaming in the lime yellow color.

The first thing I noticed was the proportions which look very good in actuality. The tyres that look under sized a bit in photos look just right perhaps slightly on the over tyred side if anything. As I got inside everything felt hard wearing and tough. Just as it is meant to be in a no frills, hard as nails off roader. Yes the dimensions are small. 4 people is what it can carry but it makes no claims otherwise. The front seats are not as wide as those of my Baleno either. The Jimny in the flesh does not pretend to be anything but a simple 4x4 and that is what I like about it.

The paint is thick and panels have a robust feel about them. Not the thin feel that my Baleno has for instance. Door close perhaps not with a thunk but at the same time nothing flimsy about them. Seated behind the driver's seat adjusted to my height, I still had enough leg room. The claddings are thick and chunky. Opening the rear door, I did not feel the weight of the tyre all that much and the door closed without feeling too light or too heavy. The rear bumper encasing the tail lights looked thick and meaty too. Open the bonnet and the first thing you notice is that the engine is placed quite high up. Fills the engine bay quite a bit too.

Inside again the switch gear feels rugged and in keeping with the over all character of the vehicle. It is compact but has that small but tough feel. Just the kind of dimensions I like. I have not illusions about the engine but given that the Jimny has a 60 kg advantage on the Grand Vitara I hope for a more peppier performance and better low end poke given that the peak torque is at 400 rmp lower. Either way felt very happy at my decision to book it a couple of days after the Expo.

One of the few things I do not like is the chrome plated grille. Like the one with the SUZUKI lettering that you get outside India.

No nonsense cabin that feels rugged to the touch.

Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023-img_20230328_150059001.jpg
Adequate leg room with seat adjusted to my height (5'11'')

Boot looked adequate for my use. Seemed that the vertical space is more than my Baleno RS.

Chunky rear bumpers, cladding and adequately sized tyres so much so that I may not upsize immediately.

Everything is nice and high. Air intake pipe seems waiting for a snorkel!

A bluff side profile. No pretenses, no air, what you see is what you get.

Nice and proportionate to me.

Has the Jimny reached TVM showrooms? (Asking because of your location), or did you see it in Bengaluru.

Yep, the grille should be one of the first things to go. Even abroad the grille with 'SUZUKI' lettering is aftermarket/optional, not standard.

I do apologise but I am pressed for time in this visit.
However on my morning walks in Sydney CBD I keep seeing the Park Jimny. And I was in Melbourne too and there are quite a few I saw there as well. The best colours as per my taste are the Forest Green and the Dark Grey. Nice and anonymous.

Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

Forest Green is a lovely colour. It goes with the vehicle really well. What a pity its not being offered in India. The Grey is pretty good too. I'm not a fan of the white though.

Re: Maruti Jimny 4-door @ Auto Expo 2023

Visited JP Nagar Nexa, Bangalore yesterday. Few observations:

- I am pretty impressed with the vehicle, it does not look small, about the right size for a go-anywhere vehicle.
- ~10 cm additional width would have made a big difference, it is strictly a 4 seater. With two medium built persons in the back, even kids would be annoyed if you try to squeeze in
- Build quality is pretty good, unlike usual Maruti vehicles (We own a Baleno )
- Tire fills the wheel well in a good manner and did not feel anything lacking here. Don’t think there is a need to upgrade unless you strongly feel so.
- Interior felt little more spacious than what I was expecting, leg room is just about right for me (I am 5’ 11”)
- Paint job is very good and kinetic yellow would definitely be a head turner.

The 2-door Jimny looks so much more proportionate and authentic - the perfect "me" vehicle, if you know what I mean. I wish they had offered it here in India as an option. And of course, the Indian version could very well do without that ugly and loud chrome grill :(

Agree about the proportions and tyres. They looked much better in flesh than they looked on photos. And the tyre itself says 'M+S', so should be optimized for better performance in mud and snow.

I have the exact same car - The Baleno RS and I'm in the same boat as far as the Jimny is concerned. Is that boot as deep and wide as the Baleno RS? If that answer is a YES, then I'm sorted for those occasional airport runs to pick up or drop someone.

I was all for the 3-door version but then this 5-door is seemingly growing on me. Seems far more practical. Even though practically speaking, my Baleno RS is perfect for the job.

Usable boot space floor area is 920x500 mm. You can consider a height of approx 700-750 mm for a clear rear view through IRVM.

Advantage of Jimny boot space- it is at some height compared to Baleno / other hatchback boot space. Hence storing/ removal of luggages is easier.

Thanks for this. Gives me an indication of how to compare.
