Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Did I just read 10Bhp and 147Nm? Why is it that Maruti-Suzuki tunes their engines so conservatively? Almost every other manufacturer's 1.0 turbo petrols dish out more power. Maybe they just want to serve those who are focussed on efficiency.

I think delta ags would be around 50k to 1lac costlier than Baleno. Should be under 10 Lacs on road.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Looks like here is another car from MSIL with a 0 star or 1 star safety rating. While I am sure that this car will sell in the millions, it is quite sad that the top selling manufacturer in our country cares so little about the safety of their passengers.

Otherwise, the looks are good and the 6 speed AT is a surprise for me since I thought that they will go with their 4 speed from the stone-ages.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

The name sounds weird. The car looks good inside out. But isn't it like an i20 active. It cannot be anything more than that barring the boosterjet engine.

Clear inspiration taken IMHO -

The WR-V was the most successful of the cross hatchbacks, and the Fronx is very likely to take that title away very soon.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Is the seating on a higher side, say like that of Ignis, than Baleno? What could be the ballpark GC? If they haven't raised it to make it tall boyish, doesn't make sense to go for Fronx 1.2. 1.0 turbojet makes sense if buying Fronx.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Anyone knows how the seating position will be? I am looking for a new car for aged parents and right now Fronx Delta AGS seems like a good choice. Unless the seating position is same as in Baleno.

The Baleno has exceptional rear seat space. Every time I drove it at my in-laws, I marveled at how folks behind me would say that there's more room there than in my erstwhile S-Cross. I am 100kg+ and at around 5'10". I don't know how Suzuki did it but space and comfort will not be an issue in this vehicle. I am 100% positive on that.

I am in love with the design of the Fronx. The front and rear look exceptional in my view. I would say it's the car of the show for me!

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Am I the only one who thinks that this should come in an EV avatar? A coupe mini SUV to take on the existing Nexon EV? Could Fronx be the Frontier X for India's largest carmaker to start with electrification?

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Mixed feelings on this! Not a fan of this cross"over"styling followed here.

I'm also feeling bad seeing how this "SUV" term being abUSED quite literally!

Was never a fan of beefed up hatchbacks like the i20 Active, WRV but I would say confidently Ford's Freestyle was the most balanced beefed up hatchback. While the Fronx has a neat exterior, somehow trying to put up a show as a big car isn't holding well against the overall stance. Nevertheless, Maruti will continue to sell this in good numbers!

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Just asked my dealer to shift my Baleno Alpha AGS booking to Fronx Alpha Automatic, as my only reservation with Baleno was the AMT.
I’m guessing the premium over Baleno will be about 2L which should put it around 13.5L OTR.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

What the Fronx . Apart from the weird name everything seems good. I am sure it will be another hit from the Maruti at cannibalization cost. Bit disappointed that the turbo is sub 100 PS in power and was also expecting rear disc brakes but I guess this is no S-cross replacement but totally a new segment a bit above the Baleno a bit less than the Brezza.

Just booked an Delta+ 1.2 MT in Arctic White. Eagerly awaiting the price release. Any idea when that will happen?

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

The ground clearance of the FronX as per V3 Cars walk around is 190mm, which is a 20mm increase over the Balenos.
