Ya but then everybody balked at Brezza's pricing. This car is a segment lower, the price gap between variants should not be this high, but let's see.

My guess is that a lot of people will walk into the showroom, look at fronx's price and then book a baleno.

I am so confused.
If you plan to keep the car for 5 years or less, there can be a significant gap between the resale value of a hit or a dud. If you're like me, and keep your cars well-maintained for 10 years or more, the resale value difference will be negligible.

The Fronx being a Maruti Suzuki, should be reasonable to maintain, reliable, and easily able to last a long time.

So keep your booking for now. It looks like it should be a good car.

P.S. In my opinion, the Fronx being a good-looking SUV version of an already very very popular hatchback, the Baleno, I have a feeling that regardless of reviews, or how the product turns out, it will set the sales charts on fire.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Maruti Suzuki Fronx garners over 5,500 bookings ahead of April launch.

The Fronx is Maruti’s second model in the sub-4m SUV/crossover space.

Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx are expected to be in the range of Rs 8 lakh-11 lakh when it launches this April.

There is no way the top end 1.0 AT can be priced even remotely close to 11 ex-showroom anywhere. The top end would be more closer to 12.5

5,500 bookings is an insignificant number for what is slated to be a mass Market car and that too a Maruti. Let's see if they pick up after the prices are announced.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Fronx is suffering from too many MS products in the same category phenomenon, the name doesn't help either. It seems to be overlapping with both Baleno and Brezza. Things will be clearer when the pricing is announced.

PS. Maybe they should have named it Banleo (Taigun/Tiguan)

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

From the front it looks nice ,it gives the perfect pseudo-SUV look. Then again when we go to the sides however hard you convince yourself , you only see a Baleno . Should see how people will accept it.

Also a major factor in this segment(I own a Tata Punch and this happens to me a lot , so much so I call it a small hatch on steroids) , reality sinks in pretty quickly that it is a small hatch back no matter how much the designers try to make it look like a SUV

1.5L Brezza pricing has some clue as to where Fronx pricing will go.

- The Fronx's base variants get a 1.2-liter NA engine, which will almost certainly be less expensive than the Brezza's 1.5-liter NA engine.

- The top Fronx variants will have a 1L turbocharged engine that costs the same as a 1.5L. But the 1.5-liter engine has back-end cost synergies with other products. Because the level of localization is unknown, 1L may be slightly more expensive. The driving experience of a turbo engine may compensate for any price premium, if charged.

- Top end in terms of features - Brezza gets a sunroof and expensive LED projector headlamps. Fornx doesn’t get a sunroof and has a cheaper LED reflector headlamp. As a result, the top end is likely to be 40,000 less than the Brezza.

- The biggest difference would be GST. Because of its 1.5L engine, the Brezza now attracts 45% GST. Fronx will be in the 29% tax bracket.

- So a more realistic ballpark guess would be 7–12 lakh ex-showroom.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Do you find any value in the "mild hybrid" technology that Fronx is using amongst others? Or is it simply paying for a feature which has no real world value?

The FE goes up approximately by 1 kmpl more through mild-hybrid and another possible 1 kmpl through the start stop engine process. Its not that manufactures are charging too much extra for the same.

Visited Pasco Nexa at Platina building MG Road Gurugram. The car will be displayed at this outlet on 13 and 14 Feb. The same cars will then be displayed in other Nexa outlets in NCR in a round robin method similar to how How it happened with Grand Vitara.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

In my opinion, after the ORIGINAL MARUTI ZEN, the Fronx is the best product from Maruti Suzuki.

The original Zen looked and felt Japanese inside out design wise. Easily the only best ever product from Maruti Suzuki. Fronx now joins it.

The Fronx too visually looks Japanese inside out. Remains to be seen how it drives and the road manners.
