If it is a 2004 lancer Then its too outdated for it time very sorry to hear that though ,so they made this car after toyota was making new corolla even thoug it couldnt compete the old one which sell here right now and civic prototypes were out then mitsubishi deservers to be there at the sales chart where they are ,but if you want more this is the model on sale from 2001 and only it front light were changed and they called it all new mitsubishi lancer in 2003 which can be refered to 2004 model but you need a new platform to call it a new vehicle if this is a new car then tommrow skoda will also change the front light and call octavia newer then Laura

One girl in my office had this lancer in 2003 in canada i still remember it blue coloured which we i dont know why call cedia here

Civic for me especially the new 1.8V which has a lot of goodies mainly paddle shift, digital display above the dash, fog lamps, auto air-con, built in audio, peppy engine, looks etc etc.

Other way round Cedia is ok but the design is outdated, it lacks many goodies which civic offers and mainly very poor marketing strategy and after sales service, availability of spares by HM.

If you have that extra bucks you can surely go for civic but if budget is a main constrain then nothing like cedia sports.

Cedia it is for me - I would buy cedia sport over civic anyday. Now only if they launched the 2008 lancer in India
2008 Lancer

Cheers,

On ground clearance issue:
Civic 170mm vs Cedia 175mm

Cedia has only 5mm more, does it really make that much difference in the real world?
I live in Pune and the roads in the city are the equivalent to most villages. Can anyone give their Pune experience for each of these cars?

Isn't it a no-brainer? The Civic it is. A check of the sales charts should be enough. That does not mean that I would go for the 'king' though when it comes down to putting down my money.

A small correction here. How do you know that cedia has the priciest parts? from an auto ma which published it nearly 2 years back?

The cedia parts were expensive when it was launched since majority of the parts were directly imported. The spare parts prices were reduced by more than 25-30%. This was the same case in the old lancer. When it was launched it had the priciest parts but very soon the costs dropped down by 40%.

Personally I love Mitsu and feel its VFM however sales are in favour of Civic. And we all know there are so many cars which are fantastic but have been sadly under achievers in terms of sale.
If only Mitsu wasn't associated with HM, who knows it would have been market leader by this time

The one serious drawback of the Civic is its low-end. That said, its the undoubted "king" between the poll options here.

You know I find it funny to read "need good build quality and associated to India" in one sentence. I find it even funnier when one gets that "build quality" from foreign companies and now complains about being pricey. We Indian's do have a habit of nagging, don't we?

Why would I post a poll based on sales? I can just pick up an autocar issue and find it out.

that's not 40% but more than 60% I will try to grab a pricelist for cedia if possible. Someone please get it for Civic.

Ground clearance is only 5mm difference but see the wheelbase of both teh cars. larger the wheelbase more prone to hi the under body.

Also the GC is for unladen vehicle. Civic with 3 onboard squats down big time. the rear wheel literally goes into the wheel well. The cedia doesnt squat as much even with 3 onboard. this makes the GC of the civic even lesser and prone to hitting down.

Actually yeah the tread title is confusing the civic is the king without doubt in sales.
