Tata Motors achieves 5 million production milestone

Tata Motors has achieved a new production milestone with the rollout of the 5 millionth car. The company celebrated the achievement with a 50-lakh formation using Tata’s Forever range of cars and SUVs.

Tata Motors achieved the 1 million production mark in 2004, the second million in 2010 and reached the 3 million mark in 2015, and rolled out its 4 millionth car in 2020. The last 1 million cars were produced in a span of 2.5 years.

To celebrate the production milestone, Tata Motors has rolled out a celebratory campaign for customers and employees in India. Tata Motors will deck up its dealership and sales outlets with branded outfits and the signatory mnemonic to mark the milestone. The carmaker will continue month-long celebrations across its manufacturing locations and regional offices.

Big congratulations to TATA. The last 1 million has taken half of the time taken by the preceding million. What a turnaround by them, which is reflected on monthly sales number and on the road as well.

With new launches in pipeline, they are going to consolidate their position further. They are bringing back Sierra which has its own fan following. Curvv is also looking very promising. new ICEs are also coming. They can also think of bringing back Sumo designed with their new design language.

Congratulations to TATA Motors. A million in 2.5 years is a an achievement. Now they have to up their service experience and introduce proper automatics, and better engines (The ones they recently showcased). The Sierra and Curvv also look promising.

In the EV space, the cars are really good, but additionally they had the first mover's advantage. Now looking forward to EVs based on the ALFA platform or dedicated EV platforms from TATA.

What has worked for them : New design language, focus on safety, at relatively affordable rate

What they would like to work on is consumer experience, long term reliability and niggle free products.
