What worked for Brezza back in the day was that it looks like a larger vehicle than it is, you can park a punch that is decently dressed right next to a creta without any visual comedy.

At ~7.5 L you get a substantial looking vehicle , same price of Brezza back in the day, how even Maruti missed such a market is a wonder.

Being a VW owner and also otherwise, I am particularly disappointed with VW numbers.

They just don't seem to learn. They had this huge opportunity under VW 2.0, but they let it slip with overpriced/half baked products. They just don't understand a simple stretegy -

LAUNCH AT LUCRATIVE PRICES, GRAB MARKET SHARE AND THEN SLOWLY INCREASE PRICES ONCE PRODUCT GRABS HEADLINES.

Kia, Mahindra and recently even Toyota are doing same and hitting home run consistently.

I second your views and would like to add that, even after digesting their sub par interiors, the quality of light switches is unpardonable. Any prospective buyer who operated the switch will not even have a second look at their cars.

Not a Facelift , but that's due to chip shortage. Maruti still has huge Ertiga orders but they are not able to fulfil due to chip shortage

Re: February 2023 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

MSIL, as always knows our market the best, as they keep updating their models, and launching new cars and features.

Good to see TATA on 3rd place. Nexon being one of their star products, They should update it's platform to ALFA and introduce better engine+gearbox before the sales start declining.

XUV300, despite being a very good car, has dropped in sales by a high margin. They even added the TurboSport, but didn't seem to help. The car is solid, but the interior needs and update and a proper autobox.

In two-wheelers, Hero is mostly dependent on the splendor. Another models which sells well is the xPulse. Otherwise they are lacking. The 160cc segment which has many brands involved, Hero's Xtreme 160R is bland compared to similar bikes like Apache or Pulsar N160. I have hardly seen 3-4 on the street.

Honda needs to bring better bikes and proper prices. But they are happy to sell Activas and high priced CBUs.

TVS is doing good with launching and updating models, like the Raider, Ntorq, Jupiter etc. They need to do better with service, which is seen even here on the forum from members' experiences.

Re: February 2023 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Vehicle retail sales up 16% in February 2023

According to the data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), vehicle retail sales grew by 16% in February 2023, compared to the same month last year.

February 2023 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis-1.jpg

Overall sales for the month of February 2023 stood at 17,75,424 units, compared to 15,31,196 units in February 2022.

Tractor sales increased by 13.96%, from 60,536 units in February 2022 to 68,988 units last month.

Two-wheeler sales went up by 14.75% to 12,67,233 units from 11,04,309 units in February 2022.

February 2023 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis-4.jpg

Three-wheeler sales were up by 81.47% in February 2023. 72,994 units were sold, compared to 40,224 units in February 2022.

Passenger vehicle sales went up by 10.99% compared to the previous year. 2,87,182 units were sold last month, compared to 2,58,736 units in February 2022.

Commercial vehicle sales also increased by 17.27%. 79,027 units were sold in February 2023, compared to 67,391 units in the previous year.

February’23 continued to witness double-digit growth of 16% YoY but was still down by -8%, when compared to the pre-Covid month of February’20. The 3-wheeler segment has seen drastic growth due to the Central & State Government’s subsidies and aggressive finance schemes. The PV segment growth can be attributed to the launch of new models, continuously improving supply coupled with a healthy booking-to-cancellation ratio.
