Citroen C3 exports commence from India

Citroen India has commenced exports of the C3 crossover to countries in Africa and the ASEAN region. The first batch of cars was recently dispatched from the Kamarajar port.

The Citroen C3 was launched in India back in July 2022. It is available in two variants: Live and Feel.

The C3 is based on the CMP modular platform. It features a funky exterior design, which is typical for the brand. Inside, it gets a dual-tone dashboard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and a digital instrument cluster.

In India, the C3 is available with two engine options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 81 BHP @ 5,750 rpm and 115 Nm @ 3,750 rpm, paired with a 5-speed manual and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm @ 1,750 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Re: Citroen C3 exports commence from India

Good. Export margins are much higher compared to margins made on domestic market retails. Just ask Renault-Nissan!
And the C3's look to be well kitted out too with rear wash-wipe et al.
Shame that Citroen India is doing nothing to increase the appeal of this very competent vehicle in the domestic market. Has the FIAT lackadaisical approach to sales and marketing affected them after PSA acquired FCA?

All the best to Citroen on their exports. While I am happy for them, I am sad for getting step motherly treatment for their Indian consumers. rear washwipe, better interiors and features is what we deserve.

Re: Citroen C3 exports commence from India

I have a strong feeling the C3 is part of next week's GNCAP results. If so, that is bad timing because it will not bode well for exports. There's already too much negative stigma about the safety of Indian-built products in both Africa and Southeast Asia, and while most manufacturers are working to fix it, Stellantis will be jumping right into the stereotype.

I am very interested in seeing the equipment list for these markets. As a member already pointed out, these cars have a rear washer-wiper. I wonder if they also get ESC, ISOFIX, or 3-point belts & headrests for all, like the Brazilian one. Interesting to see the fender-mounted indicators retained for exports.

Re: Citroen C3 exports commence from India

Citroen becomes first multinational car manufacturer to export Made-in-India EVs.

The company flagged off 500 units of the e-C3 to Indonesia from Kamarajar Port.

Citroen's export of the e-C3 not only showcases its manufacturing and engineering capabilities but also contributes significantly to India's goal of establishing a sustainable and globally competitive EV manufacturing ecosystem, the car maker shared. In addition to the e-C3, Citroen has also commenced exporting the C3 to ASEAN and African markets.
