Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

Excellent poll!

Voted for Porsche. Brand value aside, the website is clean and pleasing to the eyes. Even the cars are in a subtle grey or white shade. The configurator works seamlessly and is almost like an NFS game.

Thoughts on some of the other websites -

Honda - Plain and simple. Good pages though and some nice infographics on the page explaining tech.
Skoda - Simple but not simply clever. New shades of green feel a bit weird.
Jeep India - A bit cluttered. Can't see the price list very easily. You have to go into the configurator for the ex-showroom price.
Kia - Clean and well-designed, but like the Jeep website, you have to get into the configurator for the prices.

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

Maruti/Suzuki has two Websites.

- The one for Suzuki cars is plain and forces the user to visit an Arena showroom.
- The nexa cars website is very good and is missing from this list.

The Nexa website is decent and i personally feel they could use better fonts. Voted none as Nexa is not available in the list.

On the other hand,
Kia's website appears, it isn't designed for Indians. Configuring the right model and getting its price is cumbersome. They are more interested in getting in touch with you on your mobile.

Honda's is simple and easy to access information. Looks dated and not dynamic, And they don't have the right products to fit the website.

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

I haven't checked out the premium brands as they're out of my budget but, among the mass market brands it's Toyota's website for me. The 3D configurator is very high quality and simply gorgeous. Kia's is just as good if not any better. Hyundai's seems a bit dated. Honda's got a new website but the configurator isn't as good as Toyota's and the car colour shades seem unreal. What Honda needs is more cars to do some justice to it's slick new website.

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

All car companies do a reasonably good job these days. However, bonus points if they have:

- the 360 degree flipping/turning thingie (with color change)
- Interior 360 degree view
- Ability to download product/accessories brochure without filling a form
- Fast navigation from one model page to another

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

I went a little trigger happy and voted for BMW. Not realizing that it was a poll for the Indian websites.

The global BMW website BMW.com is, in my opinion, the best website there is. Not because it shows you products, but it has so much more. The content there would tickle any petrol heads' pre-frontal cortex.
The India (and all BMW country specific websites) are more functional in nature. I still have grief with their configurator.

In India, i would vote for the Porsche website. Smooth, slick, a treatful UI.

Most mass manufacturer websites are too cluttered and feel very sales driven. The Toyota website feels right out of the early 2000s to me.

P.S. - Love this poll.

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

Dont check the websites much these days, unless when I want to check specs / prices.

However, one question: Is it that the city specific On Road pricing is slowly disappearing from the websites ?

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

Haven't checked any of the luxury brand websites but of mass market ones the best IMO was Mahindra's website for the XUV700. A bonus point was the ability to book directly on the website without having to go through the dealer which I think was a first in the Indian market.

Re: Car Companies and their Websites in India

I voted for BMW.

Haven't been on all the sites listed, but I do frequent the BMW website a lot as I'm eyeing for a BMW purchase during the festive season. A lot of research and info are being collected from the site so that negotiations can happen with me having a clear picture of whatever is on offer. Pretty nice website and the interface is smooth.
