Here are my contributions:

1. 1995 Maruti Suzuki Esteem (carbureted) - recorded 13 to 14kmpl in the city and 19.8kmpl in one 340km highway drive typically at 80-90kmph

Related post : 1995 Esteem; FE reported under Performance and Fuel Efficiency.

2. 2005 Toyota Corolla H5 - used to get 14.5 - 15kmpl on my city runs (of course these were partly in the night when traffic was sparse) but the trick was to never cross 60kmph ever even if the road was traffic free.

Related post : 2005 Corolla

3. 2012 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - I've got 19.3 kmpl when the car was driven on the highway in non-AC mode around 70 kmph.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My Swift VDi 2014, driven equally on highways and in city averaged 22.6 Km/litre during winters. Surely, it drops when AC comes on, still, it has never averaged below 20kmpl. I reset fuel efficiency guage every season after service.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

Well, for this thread, its our latest acquisition and one of the last in the country. Infact, the last manual variant in my whole state. 2022 Vento Tsi M/T.

Delivered 24 kmpl on XP95 on my recent trip from Kaziranga and back. Also, it has delivered a fantastic 18-18.5 kmpl on my nearby hill drives.
City fuel efficiency is generally around 10.5 to 12 kmpl depending upon traffic and my mood or sometimes even lower, who cares when you've a 1L ticking time bomb.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

Hello, mine is Honda City VMT iVtech 4th generation (2018 make). On my Noida Extension to ITO route I never get less than 16.5kmpl (tankful method) with 90% AC on and maximum I got was 18kmpl without AC.

My last two highway trips from Noida to Jammu & back, I got 19kmpl (tankful method). My pre covid Delhi to Agra trip I got 19.5kmpl.

Miserly or not, I can't say but I drive a body-on-frame 1600 kg UV with a 3-cylinder 1.5 litre m-Hawk with 85 HP / 230 Nm torque. No matter how badly I drive and where I drive (I have a mix of traffic-jammed urban roads, some of the best expressways in the country, dusty sites with no roads AND horrible water-logged roads of industrial areas) I still get somewhere between 14-16 kmpl on diesel. Given the size of the vehicle, I think its commendable and my personal feeling is that it is due to the lovely, linear two-stage turbo which gives so much motive power at the bottom end of the engine.

Honda Amaze 2013 Diesel manual. 71500km

22.3 kmpl total mileage from Bombay - Bangalore - Bombay (almost 2100 km incl inside city) dec 2021
23.2 Kmpl total mileage from Bombay - Ahd - Modhera - Bombay (almost 2000 km)

Bombay city with 100% ac 16.6 kmpl

I don't plan on replacing this gem for as long as possible.

Sedate driver with a Beat Diesel as a daily beater here. It has so consistently given me upwards of 16-18 kmpl in city to even 22+ on highways (It has been taken out on the highway only once in last 5 years, since last 5 years its used only for city purposes), I have stopped measuring/calculating the FE in years on it. Its just whenever the fuel gauge drops below the 'gut feeling' expected rate, I take it to the FNG and we're good to go again!

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My two entries to this thread are as follows:
1. Hyundai Creta 1.6 Crdi SX (2018 facelift)- It consistently delivers 15.5-17 Km/l in City driving (mostly Navi Mumbai to BKC and back).
On Highway drives, it delivers around 20-21 km/l (Mumbai-Pune Expressway). On our drive from Delhi to Mumbai, it returned 22.5 km/l.

1.6 is gem of an engine. The MID figures are completely accurate here.

2. Maruti Ignis Zeta AGS (2021)- It delivers around 15-15.5 km/l in City traffic (Faridabad to Delhi and back). On highways, it gives around 20 km/l.

MID figures differ from tank to tank calculation by 1-1.5 km/l (i.e. MID shows higher average than actual)

Based on the above parameters, both my existing cars fall in the sipper category.

- 2000 5 Speed Maruti 800:

City FE: 17 kmpl with AC, single or double occupancy at best
Highway FE: ~23-25 kmpl with AC, double occupancy

-2020 Maruti XL6 MT:

City FE: 14-15kmpl with AC, single or double occupancy
Highway FE: 17-19kmpl with AC, varies based on load and conditions.

Both figures are as per tankful basis.

My 2021 Hyundai Tucson Diesel.

Typically gives me 18-19 kmpl on highways, which is pretty good for a 1.6 tonne SUV with a 2.0 engine and a torque converter auto gearbox.

This instance from Bangalore to Yadiyur was with 3 people and luggage in the car. I got an MID indicated 21.3 kmpl, which is an actual (full-tank to full-tank equivalent) mileage of 20 kmpl.

Are these tank-tank numbers or MID? If it is tank-tank your numbers are already extraordinary. You have high expectations coming from a Honda diesel. The only Hyundai diesel with unearthly FE would be the (now discontinued) XCent/Aura diesel.

Re: Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here

My pre-worshipped VW Jetta 2.0TDi , which has a Stage 1 remap and puts out approx 180 bhp has been a real surprise when it comes to fuel efficiency!

Now 9.5 years old with 1.17L km on the odo, 215 size tyres and the weight of the car, I've been really impressed with the Jettas fuel efficiency.

City mileage in BLRs traffic heavy and chaotic environment has been consistent at 12.5 kmpl with AC on all the time.

But highway mileage is fantastic to say the least and having a 6 speed gearbox really helps.

A recent trip on the BLR MYSORE expressway delivered a highway mileage of 24 kmpl (avg speed 105-110 kmph) which dipped to 18 kmpl by the time I got home (included distance from Kengeri to Jeevan Bhima Nagar in evening rush hour traffic). The image is from the journey to Mysore in the morning.

Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here-20230223_092545.jpg

Another highway trip delivered almost 20 kmpl.

Are you driving a fuel sipper? Share your miser's fuel efficiency numbers here-20230125_154915.jpg

In comparison our 2000 Honda City 1.5 in her first decade with us, consistently gave 11 kpl in city (with AC) and around 17 kmpl on the highway.

The City was fuel efficient even when given a bit of stick and that was something I always loved. It has a 5 speed gearbox.
Combined fuel efficiency on highway trips to Mangalore nearly two decades ago, without the expressways we have now was between 14 to 16 kmpl. Highway speeds were usually under 110 kmph with 2 to 4 passengers and sometimes quite a bit of luggage.

We did a mileage run from Bangalore to Mangalore once - steady 80 kmph, no AC and got over 22 kmpl. Fantastic considering there was also a ghat section involved.

In comparison the Ford Fiesta 1.4 petrol we had was dull as dishwater to drive and only gave 10 kmpl in city and combined Bangalore to Mangalore highway mileage of 12 kmpl. This was around 2005-06.
