A base Lancer Evo costs $30K and a fully loaded one costs $36K. A lousy 4pot camry starts at 20K and fully loaded V6 costs close to $30K. I don't know which version HM intends to bring to India but there shouldn't be much difference between Camry and Evo.

considering that lousy 4pot camry retails for 21L here, we must actually be looking at 35L+ target for the EVO IX. 35L seems to be quite a stretch for the EVO. wouldnt want to spend a penny above 28-30L for it.
just me 2 paisa.

Keep in mind that this is not the EvoX but a EvoIX. So they should sell it at a much lower price than the current model. May be 22 - 25 L, not more than that.

Not many would mind paying bit more for the Evo X. Hope the bring that instead.

If HM is launching Evo IX as discussed, I dont think its going to be a CBU or CKD. The dies are going to be bought at a cheap price and it may be manufactured here like the old model Pajero. If that is the case, pricing of 50L (or even 35L) is going to be totally unrealistic and HM would make it a point to bomb this car even before its launch, right from the inception stage. I would prefer them to get the Evo X at a price of 35L as CBU or CKD and nothing else. Hope good sense prevails at HM.

If HM does buy the assembly lines of the EVO IX series and plans to manufacture it here, I dont think it would be a bad decision at all. Infact, it would be the best decision they have made in almost a decade.
If they are able to manufacture it here, it must not cost more than 23-25L and that is one atom-bomb of a car for the price of a camry.
HM has a winner is ~grvanand's prediction is correct.
