Interesting. Does that mean they will bring down the prices since the taxes would be lower?

Maybe they will increase the discounts in the usual Audi style.

But seriously, didnt't they launched it high prices telling its a CBU? Now that its a CKD, charging the same is just being greedy. They should be passing the lower labor, shipping costs and tax rates to the customer.

Like somebody put in the comments, if the price is the same, one would prefer the CBU.

To maximize profits, all will try to price at the maximum level that the customer is willing to pay
If there are no/less takers at that high price point, pricing will come down or discounts will kick in.

The comments in that IG post are real gems. Let me sum up, as those are my thought too:
- VAG making hefty profits
- India-spec (CKD) labour charges , German-spec (CBU) pricing
- why would one go for CKD model when the original costs the same?

+ My question, would they sell the CBU along with the CKD?

Problem is that all their peers are charging exorbitant prices today so they have no reason to do charity and discount their prices on paper given they are probably better specced than their peers anyways (engine, etc.).
Offering discounts is one thing, but pricing it at a lower price than peers would impact their brand value.
