Hey get your car checked, the optra should give more than that if you drive in a sane way.

Shan2nu,
That's an excellent mileage for OHC Vtec. I guess 90kmph speed is the optimal speed in OHC to get maximum mileage.
Will check the mileage tomorrow with speed of 90kmph in my OHC as i'm doing BLR-CKM.

Thanks, but eco driving has got lots more to do apart from cruising speeds. Try and use the least amount of throttle possible when accelerating. Don't floor the acc on an incline to maintain 90kmph in 5th. The moment you feel the engine is getting bogged down on an incline down shift into a lower gear and maintain mild throttle till you reach flat ground. I used 2000rpm as the lowest and 2700 as the highest limit. Anything above 2700 (upshift) and anything below 2000 (downshift).

Dont do any hard braking if its not required. If you see a toll gate or traffic jam ahead, ease off the acc and slowly press the brakes.

Increase tyre pressure to about 32-33 psi.
