Thanks, Jimmy! Yes, Bridgestone Tubeless 175/70R13 AQ Donuts...
I hope you know that:
175/70 is not the correct upsize for the Baleno.

Stock R.R (165/80 R13) - 297.1 mm
R.R (175/70) - 287.6 mm
You will have a speedo error of -3.2%.

185/70 r13 or 185/65 r14 or even 195/60 R-14 are the correct upsizes for the Baleno:

Speedo Error for 185/65 R-14 is a negligible 0.32%
Speedo Error for 185/70 R-13 is -0.84% which is again fairly small.

wow, 16kmpl for cars like baleno etc?
At what speeds do you guys drive to achieve this?
Hope you guys wont say 60kmph or so. I never can drive at these speeds.
No! No-one gonna drive the car at 60kmph.
Those figures are for avg speed of 110 kmph. If you drive above 120-130 kmph all the time then the fuel economy suffers by 1 kmpl i guess.

Yes, Jimmy, I realised that. But I wanted to go with what Suzuki considered best in other developed markets. Its twin, Suzuki Baleno GLX in Australia was sold with this spec tyres. See http://www.mynrma.com.au/baleno-glx_suzbalglx_specs.asp. I didn't mind the negative error, and it's on the threshold of acceptable limits (~3%).

I own three cars as of now.

Indica Petrol (65months old with 56000km) - Burns a liter of petrol for each 9.5km with AC on in the city. Long drives are such fun, and only consumes about liter for every 13.5km with AC on. I have found about 10% better mileage without the AC on.

Wagon-R (18 months old with 15000km) - Runs 12.5km per liter of petrol with AC on within the City. Without the AC, it gives about 14km per liter. Have never dared to take this vehicle on highway, or drive it beyond 80km/hr

Innova (1 month old with 1200km) - Just above 10km pet liter of diesel in City with AC on. Have made one long highway trip and it gave about 13km/liter with AC on all the time.

My City1.3 gives me 10.5-11 in Bangalore traffic (AC mostly on) and usually 14 on highways - squeezed 16+ on one trip to Hyd driving a sedate 80-90 at night.

I love gearshifting (down, the engine sounds heavenly at 5k) a lot Have heard stories of ppl managing 18-20 in a 1.3 - envy them! (I can never drive so carefully)

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

the upper limit indicates f.e. on highways and th lower limit indicates f.e. in the city.all figures are widout a/c.made sure that i obtain the best f.e. figures possible.
zen mpfi(with k&n universal filter and free flow exhaust) -- 14-23kmpl
ford ikon 1.6(with k&n universal cone)-- 11-16
fiat siena 1.6(with k&n universal cone)-- 13-18
optra 1.6 royale-- 10.havent tested it on the highways as yet
honda accord 2.4-- 9-14
hh karizma--30-42
all the f.e. figures were obtained by not exceeding 65kmph either in city or on the highway.and tank full to tank full technique was used to get accuate readings.with a/c switched on expect a drop of 1-2kmpl from the above figures at the same speed.

my last tank full gave me a range of 477.3 KMS to 43.61 Ltrs in my Ikon 1.6, had been really heavy footed, to get such a mileage.
well the break up is something like this;
in city 118 Kms (24.72%)
highways 309 kms (64.78%) speeds ranging from 120 - 140 KMPH
in the hills 50 approximately (10.48%) on 2nd and 3rd gears...
on the whole i got a mileage of 10.95 KMPL...

Dudes
I drive a 91 Omni, stock but with Bridgestone Donuts radials.... In Mumbai i get 14.5 kmpl and on the highway get 19 - 20 easily.
Need ideas to do a performance jig on this vehicle before I sell it possibly after it has crossed 60 k kms currently at 50k kms and if I sell it I will only get about 30 to 40 K INR so wanted to enjoy it . Need some sound first as it is very silent but seems you cannot have free flow exhaust in the OMNI as there is no room for bends. Also cannot put a K & N air filter as it is not available for the Omni. What can I do please advise ....pl also remember I do not want to spend too much as I will be selling it by next year.

M800 (carb) :- City - 14.xx Highway - 19 - 20. Without A/C. Its undriveable with A/C on.
Indica2000 :- City - 7 Highway - 9 kpl . With A/C on 100 % of the time.
Indigo(petrol) :- City - 8.5 Highway - 11. With A/C on all the time. Regular unleaded fuel was used.

Amongst 2 wheels

1990 Kinetic Honda DX - 15 kpl (city) :(
Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi - 53-55kpl city. 53-55kpl Highway. Dont know why it is the same.

Is the AC giving you problems ? How is the cooling effect ? Does the blower make a lot of racket ? How old is the vehicle ? 8000 Kms. in what duratin ? Sorry only question, this time. I am little worried about the Dicor. In another thread I read about exessive emmission levels. CRDE's are supposed to be pretty smokeless.
